  1. Hey Thanks! Yea I agree my parents are pretty awesome. Most of the time Good list, I would have to agree with everyone of them. Garrett.
  2. Talk about stress, lol. My engine is going to be dropped into the Monte tomorrow, and hopefully fired this weekend. But I most likely have forgotten to order some parts for her so it probably wont be fired until Monday, leaving the tuning to be done Tuesday and break in on the way down edit: all pending I get my license on the 12th!!! Garrett.
  3. Aaron, turns out we are staying at the Dalles in. My dad decided he was going to take the truck instead of the motor home. He has already booked a room and we are set to leave on the 12th. The monte will be cutting it very close though Garrett.
  4. How about a Procharger? Right now they seem to be my favorite way of making boost. Plus no need to modify or spend bug money on fancy headers. They can be made to work well with a blow through carb so no need to spend big money on a fuel injection system and they make just about as much hp or more than a single turbo or supercharger. Garrett.
  5. I would say, a larger carb maybe somewhere in the 850-900 range and either a set of these heads or a set of AFR's. You will see a difference with these heads but with your smaller cam it might not be as big a difference as you think. Just my opinion. If it were me, I would opt for a larger carb. Maybe one from Patrick at Prosystems (seems to have awesome reviews), I think thats who it is anyways. And maybe step up to a set of AFR heads or these Brodix ones.
  6. Sounds good,I will to that today. Thanks, Garrett.
  7. Can I just use household clear silicone? Garrett.
  8. The reason I'm asking is because I don't have any automotive silicone, but have house hold stuff but would rather not. I have permatex gasket maker, would that work? Garrett.
  9. To silicone or not to silicone differential gastket. It's a Felpro and I believe it's cork. Thanks, Garrett.
  10. Everyone is correct here with the fact that changing the mother board will not decide weather you will have vista or not. It's the hard drive that needs to be swapped over to give you vista. When you buy a (pre made) box like a compact or Hp there is usually a sticker on the side giving the serial of the operating system on it and you can use that to install vista for free on any computer as long as it's not installed on any other system or has been deactivated. If you have a pre made box like that, you have already paid for the operating system. Garrett.
  11. thanks Bruce, Anyone do this conversion on this site who can tell me if this information is correct? Thanks, Garrett.
  12. Does anyone want to go through a walk through on what I need to do to convert my column shift car to a console car. I just bought the console and shifter for Leo (absolutely great guy to deal with) and need to know basically everything on how to install it as I cannot reference how it was previously put together. Pictures are worth 1000 words Thanks, Garrett.

On your photo bucket picture in the left hand side there is a box with 3 or 4 urls. Use the one that says behinnd it. Should work. Photobucket is nice because you do not have to highlight/right click copy but just have to click on the url and it will copy. If all else fails type after and it will show. ex : www.example.jpeg Garrett.
  14. Did you have to do any trimming of the bars or is it built only for a monte (not universal) and just welded right in? if it just welded in, I'm buying one and doing it myself, I just don't have any tools to cut/notch tubing. Thanks, Garrett.
  15. yea, working at a machine shop for a summer and reading forms all day long I catch on quickly. Especially the team chevelle form, those guys know everything about everything to do with engines. Garrett.
  16. There's a few things that might help you determine what route you want to go. First off, stock blocks are good to about 650hp that's about it unless you go to an aftermarket block (the 650hp is assuming you have splayed main caps, aftermarket rods ect). second quection, do you have forged pistons. I see they are speed pro's but are they forged? If they are your pistons can take the extra 150 shot if they need to. I see you have 10.5:1 compression, which means you might want to switch to a dished if you plan on running a boost application (supercharger, turbo, pro charger) to make good power with a boost application you will want a lower compression ratio for predetonation. just some food for thought. My suggestion for you to see a larger hp gain would be a set of after market heads (afr, world ect.) and a larger cam. something in that .550- .600 range. that alone should net you about 100 or even more above your settup. and your engine would be under carbed so you would need to step up to a 750dp or something around there. with those modifications done, you would then have a stout engine capable of making large numbers with a power adder. IMHO Garrett.
  17. Well, I went with an entire pro front end, hood and trunk from Glassteck and found them to be quite in expensive. I'm sure by the time you get the original fender all prepped and ready to make a mold out of your spending quite a bit of money if the fender is not already perfect. I saw a Muscle car (T.V show) do it before and thought of how much work it really was and how you really end up spending about the same amount of money in the long run. Glasstek Link Buy the time you end up fitting it and making all the brackets and buying fasteners (zeus) it ends up being very time consuming but not all that costly if you can do it yourself. Check out my photobucket link maybe it will help make up your mind. edit: you could also look at it as a horsepower to weight ratio where you want to go faster but you don't want to tear into the engine and ruin reliability and street ability. Kinda what I was thinking when I bought mine as well as the cost of fiberglass components compared to engine upgrades. Garrett.
  18. Is the second fitting on the sump meant for a return line for regulators that use it? or would that return to the top of the tank? Thanks, Garrett.
  19. so the point of a fun manual valve body is to allow the engine to get up to a higher rpm range rather than shifting at the stock rpm. Is that why drag racers use it instead of just putting it in drive? Thanks, Garrett.
  20. Does anyone know if you have to have a full manual valve body to run a ratchet shifter on a th350? Or will the stock valve body work, just not as well. Thanks, Garrett.
  21. yea, It was going to be a street/strip car so it will see more like 10,000k or more per year. It is the only car I own at the moment but I will likely get a more street able car later on. Taking alot of time to fit properly is not a big deal for me (still around 150 or so days till I can drive anyways) Thanks, Garrett.
  22. I was looking on glasstek's site and saw the fenders for our first gens. Anyone have them? like them? anyone have any opinions about them they would like to share. My thoughts are: alot less prep/rust removal for paint, lighter, cost is very descent compared to restoring an old set of steels. maybe their pro front end, it would be supper light. the reason I ask is that I may have a person interested in mine and might go to glass anyways. Thanks, Garrett.
  23. I have found a complete bent kit that someone is selling and am wondering if 3.5" is just too big for a small block.... the only reason I'm asking is that it's a descent price and would save me some money. I found this:http://www.hotrod.com/projectbuild/113_0411_flowmaster_exhaust_system/index.html It shows that size isn't a factor as far as going larger. Thanks, Garrett.
  24. Thanks for the site, based on how to do it on that site I got 4.5" of backspacing. so it looks as if I'm going to need a rim some where around 6-6.5" Thanks, Garrett.
  25. Well then all the better cause I only need 5.5" backspacing but I might go 6 to tuck up nicely under the quarter. 6.5" is hard to find in common wheels anyways. It doesn't look like theirs much more space between your lower shock mount than mine. I think it's just the different angle. I'm pretty sure I have 4.5" (how would you measure?) Thanks, Garrett.
