    Tick

    Valvoline VR1 with ZDDP. 6 bucks a quart a O'Reilly's
  4. I had an issue with my gage on my '70 a few years back. which turned out to be the plug on the harness for the sending unit that is in the trunk. Check that out. Good luck.
  5. It still would be a tight fit. They will pretty much dump out over the engine cross-member. And with the steering shaft right there, To much hassle. Those would be better on a Corvette.
  6. I run a Holly 750- 4160, Vac secondary on My Big Block with a manual choke. But I don't even need to use it up here in Michigan. Even when I fire it up in the winter time.
  7. I did the same. I made mine out of .750 dia aluminum round bar stock then bore a hole through it. Did it at work.
  8. I did take my son to his baseball practice at 530 in the Monte.
  9. My Hooker headers, the same dia. as James but not coated, come really close to the break proportioning valve mounted on the frame. But it doesn't cause any break issues.
  10. Wow.I fell back in my chair just watching that. Love it!
  11. I put my stock hood on last nite and then couldn't open it back up. Worked on it today trying to get it to open. I bought a Taiwan made Hood latching mechanism From National Parts Depot. I would get the hood to unlatch but when I would tighten up the bolts for the spring loaded deal on the hood. It would bind and not unlock. After a few choice words at the car, I finally took a 24 oz ballpeen hammer to the deal on the hood and now it works. I can open it.
  12. Those trans pans are like the oil pans. If you over tighten the bolts you stress the metal to. So you have to flatten out the pan rails where the bolts go through. Check with a straight edge. Other wise your just going to leak fluid all over again.
  13. Someone must have swapped mine out then on my '70 Monte cause uses the clip type of cable. That could be why mine seems a bit long.
  14. Steve. I think you did the best thing than any of us ever did or will do with our Montes. Like Tony said. I think she was smiling to and helping you.
  15. Finished up the exhaust work. Changed the oil and oil filter. Pulled her out of the garage and parked it in the front yard for a bit to clean out the garage. Took it for a ride round the block then put it back in the garage.
  16. Is it pick on Kenny Week? We all were young once and did crazy things to. 115mph in a 40mph zone for me. Lost my drivers license for 6 months. And I blew away a rusted out 2nd gen Monte with a rented 4 door Impala.
  17. I have a Gen V in my '70 Monte. I pitched all of the fuel injection stuff for a Preformer intake and Holly carb. I love the power it puts out just as I have it set up. I plan on throwing in a set of New heads and a installing a cam & lifter set in the near future. Good luck with yours.
  18. Cool. mine was under my rear seat. Hopefully you will find one. Oh, and Welcome to the site.
  19. Cool. Then it is a rare find. I was told mine had the orig motor and trans but it wasn't. Do you have the build sheet to?
  20. Thats what the Numbers said to that is was a 4bbl. And was used in A F X body gm cars.
  21. V= Flint, Mi 06=June, 14th day CJD= '71 350 w/TR 350 270hp I would say it is original to this car. Thats about it. Good buy. You will have to post pictures. Got this info from NastyZ28.com. Someone else should know if it is rare. Good Luck.
