Did some more polishing of the lower trim pieces this morning Ann's afternoon. Does anyone know what I can use to clear the pieces. I don't want to keep polishing these things? -

Made some phone calls after work yesterday. Trying to find the best price And closest person to install the vinyl top for the Monte. I called the guy that redid my seats for me a few years ago. He recommended a guy just down the road from me. I called a Mike at Terry Horners Body Shop. $275 to install. Told the guy won't be till April. He said give him a call when I'm ready . That's what I did to my Monte today. -

Received my Lower Trim pieces and wheel well trim from Jared Richey today. Also placed an order with Dixie Monte Carlo for the 2pc rocker trim set and with Year One for the Black Vinyl Top. Now who wants to come on up here and help me put the top on? -
I have the Custom Auto sounds USA 630 receiver in my 70. Mine is a few years old. It has a USB plug and a AUX Jack to. Very nice radio.

Jared. You can give me the wheel well trim off the 72 and then put the NOS trim on her car. -
I have used the Dupla Color vinyl trim paint on my head rests and Sun visors door panel arm rests. So far it has held up. Painted these around 2008.

Update. The Monte Is now home and back in my garage. Now the fun of fixing other little things and buying trim parts for her begins. -
Glad you are doing better. I know I get flustered when people offer to help out. But with out Friends and Family I don't know what I would do, and it is always welcomed in the long run.

Finally Getting Paint
bigtankjones replied to bigtankjones's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
Yeah. It's been kind of slow going. Dave, my painter. His Girl friend had been getting on him about spending to much time at his body shop after he gets out of work. Dave works at A Ford dealer in there body shop. Then he has his little business at one of his homes. So hopefully not too much longer. I've got allot of stuff to put back together. -

Update on the 70 Monte. I went out to Dave's this morning to help hang the fenders and hood on the car. Got to go back out tomorrow and loosen up the core support to open up the gap I the left front fender. Dave has to finish the fender extension front and rear yet. Almost done. -

Finally Getting Paint

Went out today after 10am and sanded and scotch brighted the under side of the hood. Dave sealed the underside then mixed up some base coat black. Wanted to block the right front fender, but he said he used a House Of Kolor primer and it still wasn't dry enough yet to block. I will go back out Tuesday evening and flip the hood over so we can block it. Talking color next Saturday.
