  1. I have The right cone I have like 10 starters,I did learn that big block and small starters are the same all most I got it one shim on the outer bolt moved it in just a little now its nice and quite, this is the first time gave Me such a hard time
  2. Royal Purple Brake in oil 10w-30 is what i use but its mainly because i have about 50 quarts left a buddy gave it to me for dirt cheap
  3. The starter im using is the starter form the 307 that use to be in my chevelle its a delco that i had rebuilt i call it a re man, But its working good now
  4. Ok guys i got it it was the bent starter bolts one shim. i have it set to .35 mm of gear mesh its a lot quieter im sure it could be quieter but its good for now iv herd way louder Thanks for the help i liked the pic
  5. I think i may have one slightly bent starter bolt im going to get new ones and see what happens,And check every thing else hope fully it works
  6. on the Driver side on the back of the valve cover, Summit or jeges will have them for cheap
  7. The one i have now is a old one that was rebuilt a few years ago i took it to byrne electric in town and it did it with a different starter i had a old one
  8. Update tried another starter did the same thing as the re man starter i only have 2 shims and a half shim i was told that there should be a 1/8 of clearance on the gears and to check with a paper clip or drill bit i used both, the old starter had no shims on it, as of right now im getting tired of taking out and putting back in starters
  9. Ya im 100% sure they mesh together fine i know the fly wheels on right ect it was fine with the old starter there's no abnormal ware or any thing

The starter in the Monte went just stopped,Put a brand new re man starter i had and its loud as hell its a wining sound like its to close to the starter so i shimmed it out took 2 shims and a half a shim in it had the proper clearance i used a paper clip to check it but it still makes the same noise and the starter doesn't disengage all the way when cranks and this is with it not starting up ignition disabled so i got to my chevelle the starter strongly disengages like its being pulled back electrically my Monte just kinda slowly disengages and if i hit it with my hand it pops in what gives
  11. Ya gm used the same stamped steel valve covers on all most all chevy 305,350,and 400 pretty much all small blocks some may have the oil cap in a different spot but other then that 1958-1986 are the same as long as there the steel valve covers
  12. How much fuel pressure do you have.Clogged filter kinked fuel line or hoes ect..maby

  15. Murphy i Had the same thing but mine was mounted on the top of the inner fender and it had rubber hoes on both sides but mines a 1970 to and it looks like yours doesn't even have a vacuum line to it
  16. Thats one thing i would never do Drive my Monte in the rain but looks like there might be more down sides to it
  17. Ya i wouldn't mind buying axles its jest i have the spool and a new set of 3:31 gears and im not a fan of the one wheel peeler you know.

I have a 8.2 10 bolt BOP rear end in my monte and looking threw my parts bins last night i have the spool set up form my dads old 69 grand prix with a GM 8.2(Don't ask me why it was gm dont know)rear you guys think it would be ok for some street strip use in my monte and are the GM 8.2 parts interchangeable with the BOP 8.2 This is what i have http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RMG-78-8228-1/
  20. I think you can a power gluid dip stick will work on a th350 and a th350 dip stick tube will work on a 200r4 form what I know or is it a 700r4 mhmm some one here should know but I think it will
  21. it would work but you might want to have a extra temp gauge(not the idiot light) and a 7 blade fan and watch your temp

  23. Its around 10:1 there 64cc heads flat top pistons I bought the HEI set up form summit I can look up the specs
