you have your self one nice block a heads back in the 60s and 70s the camel back heads And the corvette block with the wintage tray and 4 Bolt mains was the set up to have there's tons of hipo things to do to the heads and block and tons of aftermarket hipo parts ill let some one elce list some or ill get back on later I'm on my cell phone right now

I dis like the center bolt valve covers and I don't have a vortech intake I have a set of camal back heads I might try also but for now I want to see what I can do with the 882s if I don't like them ill go with the camal back heads

I'm going to get the summit catalog out tonight and order up some gears ect.. Im going to get some eagle h beam rods and some speed pro .125 dome pistons and light weight vlaves for the camal backs figure while I have the motor out do it up agin but better this time around

Ok ill look around for some more gears to pick form I might have some 3:55s or 4:10s

Ok 3:31s it is. right now if I put the car in drive the shaft spins but the car don't move so its safe to say the ring gear is trashed

I jest want some opinions on what gears to run im not much of a rear end guy myself

What year is your friends th350 and what yer ia yours if his is newer it may have a eletronic kick down or something like that

The 8.5 10 bolts have ears on the bottom of the housing the 8.2s don't correct me if im wrong any one theirs a web site i saw in a post not to long ago that listed how to tell them apart

Well im going threw my Monte 8.2 10 bolt i haven't taken it apart yet so i don't know what gears are it but i know its not a posi and its make some loud noises i have a posi carrier and some 3:31 gears they any good for this combo?,Its a mildly built 350 .30 over flat tops camel back heads,268h comp cams cam, performer intake and a holly 680cfm,headers with glass packs and a th350 with a shift kit stock converter. that all i can think of for now let me know if i forgot any thing i plan on dragging the car this year and i hope to run some ware in the 13s Any help is appreciated

That's what I was thinking so in probly not going to use the 822s so if any one needs em come get em I'm going to look for some camal back heads or jest Some small chamber 70s heads that should be on the car

Well i jest started striping down my montes motor and it looks lile it has a set of 1974 882s I have herd bad things about these heads but any way I'm going for a mild 350 .60 over jest got the 400 crank so it can be 383ed. 268h comp cams 1.6 ratio rockers roller tip. I do have a set of vortech heads but I don't like the look of the center bolt valve covers it jets don't look right to me

What do you guys think about the 882 casting small block chevy heads I have a set there 76 cc chambers good shape I here they flow real good but I also here they crack under high temps

That looks like what they the did to the T-bolts back in the 60's. They took out the head lights or the center head lights on the impalas and ran the ducting to them. It could work on the monte you well have to find a place run the ducting

Hay all I'm running is some thursh 18 inch glass packs bolted to the headers with Turn downs on them its loud but not to loud for me but on the other hand the cops bother me some times

There was a thing on thousand ways to die about a bouncing car the coil spring popped out hit the guy and knocked him under the bouncing car next to him they might of even been early 1980's Monte's next time i see it ill look better Pretty random but that's what this reminded me of lol

it sounds like the high idle isn't working or the choke isn't working properly but fix the coolent leak so you can warm the car up all the way to see if there is even a problem

How does it run for the 5 or 6 seconds it does run? How does it start it could be the cold weather how does it normaly start in the cold there's many things it could be if its been sitting the gas could have drianed back ect.... we need some more info on what it does

No the car should still run with a coolant leak the coolant has nothing to do with engine vacuum but if you over heated it you could have a problem
