  1. Not fair, Sandalwood was listed on old poll and now it's not?
  2. Sam - leaving Sandalwood color out of this poll? I'd like a silver one but my Monte is not a silver so can't vote Rick
  3. Dennis, I know how it feel as I found mine last week under rear seat, but was only able to save 2/3 of it Rick
  4. Scott, that is about what I see, approx 2 inches down from filler neck so I am assuming that is normal which I am happy to know so I can stop filling up radiator Sam, thanks for the explanation which makes sense...
  5. I didn't see any leakage around cap area but will check the cap or replace it. If that does not resolve the issue, any advice?
  6. Hijacking this thread if no one mind? I am having same issue with antifreeze level decreasing inside the radiator as I do not have reservoir tank (yet), checked dipstick/oil filler cap did not show any milkshake foam. No sign of oil floating at top inside the radiator. Monte do have white smoke because its cold outside but white smoke goes away after warmed up. I even checked interior for heat core leak but did not find any. Any advice?
  7. Nygel - am curious what MSD box is if you don't mind telling us? Is it related to ignition system? If so, curious what benefits would Monte get if MSD box is installed? Rick
  8. Took the rear bottom seat out, discovered the original build sheet still attached to the seat on left side - was only able to get 2/3 out as 1/3 is still there
  9. Thanks everyone - got the seat out yesterday without any issues.
  10. Aaron - thanks, will try search method again as I did try just "seat" that returns no results. Will give it another shot when warm weather come back. Larry, thanks for the tip and I am not sure what sill plate is? Rick
  11. I tried to search for seats but came up empty - I doubt that you guys didn't discuss on how to remove rear seats before? If you didn't then here's a new question - by viewing other junked Monte, there's three "hook" on top that I am assuming that holds the top rear seat? And how about the bottom of rear seat? I love photos like everybody says Rick
  12. Is there any other year/model that brace piece can be cut off from to be used for FGMC?
  13. Abe, as Dennis explained, here's the picture of the clip on bottom: Hope that helps, Rick
  14. Last Saturday, took my Monte out for a drive as it was sunny at mid 50's, can't wait til Spring to do body work
  15. Brian, the guy said he sold the rear end. Rick
  16. Brian - which part of northern VA are you in? I am from Frederick, MD and I am planning on going down to Warsaw, VA for fenders from a 1971 Monte on Monday morning. I could ask about the rear end if you are interested. Nice to know there's FGMC owners near DC Metro area Rick
  17. I had this discussion with other FGMCC members and I decided not to use patches so I am shopping around for fender replacements (original) which is pricey for me at this point, gotta to save up first Rick
  18. David, thanks and will check other suggestion first as I would not want to take transmission out again this soon
  19. Thanks Bob, will check when weather gets warm again.
  20. After installing new flexplate, my 1971 Monte started up fine and idles quite well - but noticed when I drove it for a while and stopped at light, it felt like idling wasn't going well but when I put into neutral gear, idling returns to normal. All hoses are intact - not sure what I should check?
  21. I replaced the unit on my 71 Monte last September as it was fun and quite easy - one important step that I missed was to connect the new fuel sending unit to the wires and move up/down the floater to make sure it's sending to gauge properly (if not, it could be unit, gauge or wiring that need to be looked at). To my luck, the new unit is working as it should after putting tank back in place
  22. My son and I tried to narrow down where the smell is coming - it's not gasoline smell but more like engine smell from front, I am suspecting the exhaust manifold or somewhere nearby is creating smell - or is that normal as I was told? Other thing to consider that my Monte was sitting outside for 4 years without driving/running at all.
  23. I am interested in the fender, how much will you sell the rust free one?
  24. Bruce - does that meant you capped the vent line on your '71 or not?
