    They are speed holes
  2. Thanks! but you haven't seen the gold one up close, photos hide a lot of dents/chips/scratches LOL. It will be a beauty some day.
  3. Any of you have some idea of what will be needed for tech inspection for the drags? What's involved? I'd like to post something on the Western Meet page about it and maybe in the newsletter. I know it's 6 months away but I'm getting excited!
  4. I remember helping strip my Dad's Vette when I was a kid. Very messy job. I think sanding to the bare metal would be very time consuming. To sum it up... Strippers are dirty... very dirty

    Grills

I have thought about putting the 71 headlight extensions and grill on my 72 as well. I don't think that would be too tough of a task. Going from 71 to 72 grill/extensions would be tough though.
  6. If the holes of the valve covers are not in the same place, doesn't that also mean the indent on the sides to allow room for the wrench is in a different spot? If you are trying to restore the engine truly to stock, I would think that the correct valve covers should be easy too find at not much cost. Try Leo at Koniks Klassiks.
  7. I never noticed a difference. I have a stock 70 300HP Monte and a stock 72 350 Monte and there does not appear to be a difference. I have bolted other small block valve covers (just ones kicking around, not sure what they were from) to my 70 before without problems also.

  15. I'll be going via I5 since I'll be in the Vancouver BC area a couple days before the meet. I plan on driving down on Thursday. Hope to meet up with some of you along the way.
  16. Whether your Monte is ready or not, you are going. No negotiations. I'll pick you up on my way to Oregon if I have to. I've seen you miss too many meets already.
  17. The meet starts 7 months today.
