Raydog
There is a 1971 LS5 454 for sale on Seattle Craigslist for $1500.00. You can find it by searching for 1971 Monte in the Auto parts section. I'll post a link when I get home. I'd appreciate any thoughts on value and if you think it's the real deal. I do but I've been wrong before. Thanks
LostnFound
It looks legit to me. He has the wrong casting number mentioned in his ad but the pic of the block shows the correct 3963512 casting number. CPD is correct for the 71 Monte SS suffix code and the 820 heads are correct as well. Good find Ray! Disclaimer: This is my 2 cents based on my limited knowledge gained by what I see on my car and have read about.
LostnFound
I wonder what bore it is. For that matter, I wonder what bore mine is. I'll find out one day when I get it refreshed. At $1500 this could be a very good deal Ray.

Raydog
I should have bought it. It sold really fast. I don't need it. I have a 71 Monte SS and 64 Chevelle. Don't need another project. Thanks for your input.
RichG
I missed the ad, does anyone have a copy or failing that, what color was the car?
LostnFound
It was just the engine guys. Hey Bill....By what bore mine is I was referring to how many times it has been honed or bored to be rebuilt as I have no idea....I also don't know if any sleeves have needed to be put in it but I'll find out down the road. One of the things on my list is to pull it and have it refreshed including changing the cam and resealing everything to take care of oil sweats etc
