None of my switch buttons are working now. They have been working fine for years. Then all of sudden none the switch buttons working.

I hope someone has incountered the same problem and has fixed it.

Check your power window relay. You should here a click from the relay when activating button(s). Also check fuse and ground. More than likely one of the 3 indicated. You should be able to test all 3 with a simple test light. Try fuse 1st.

Thanks for info.

Where is relay located and I looked on fuse panel for anything related to windows and nothing was stated so.

If you could give me direction of relay that would be a great help.

The fuse would be the top left labeled power accessories. I believe a 30amp. You should be able to see the element open with a flashlight. If not take It out and use an ohm meter.

Robert,

When you say none of your power window switch buttons is working, do you mean none of the four switches in the driver's door is working or none of all the switches, including the three that independently operate the other windows (one on the passenger door and one on each side of the rear panels) is working. It makes a difference. If the other three independent switches are working, then the problem is clearly in your driver's master switch which may have simply become unplugged behind the door panel(ask me how I know). If none of the seven total switches is operating then you need to check the other things Doug has already suggested.

The power window relay is actually mounted to the inside of the driver's door sill and is hidden from view behind the driver's kick panel. Since it is an absolute bear to get to (especially in a non-AC car with astro vents), I suggest you replace it only as a last resort. However, it is a critical part of your power window system because the switches will only operate the windows when that relay has been "picked" or energized. The wire that picks the relay should go to your fuse panel and be attached to the blade labeled "ACC" (red arrow in the photo below).

When your ignition is in the full "off" position, your windows will not operate even though the main wires that supply power to your window regulator motors is connected to the "BAT" (blue arrow in photo below). Your ignition must be turned to the Accessory position for the windows to operate so be sure you did that to start your investigation.

If your windows do not operate with the ignition in the Accessory position then check the fuses to the left of the BAT and ACC blades (see photo above) as Doug already suggested. NOTE: Also check to be sure the wire connectors are securely plugged onto the BAT and ACC blades. You can unplug and re-plug them to be sure they are making good contact. If either one is loose or off, your windows will not operate.

Since the ground side of the power window circuit is achieved through each of the power regulators being bolted to the door frame or body, it is almost impossible to have lost your ground at four place simultaneously so I seriously doubt it is a ground problem.

If both fuses are good (test them to be sure or replace them with new ones) and the connections are secure on your fuse panel, it is possible the relay is not operating. Knowing how difficult it is to get to the relay, I would try to test the relay by applying a known 12V power source to the picking wire while operating the switches in both directions. Only if that test fails would I replace the relay which will require you to remove the driver's side kick panel to get to it.

Good luck ...
