shoalssales
Ok i have a 1973 454 that is bored out 30 over with new flat top pistons stock heads and a comp cam, aluminum edelbrock intake and holley 750 carb. I have rebuilt 700r that is supposed to hold up to 450 hp and was wondering what a good torque converter and stall would be? Any suggestions? Sam (Bones)
depends on the cam specs
shoalssales
All of this is going in a 72 monte carlo that will be used as a daily driver and will never see a drag strip. I wasn't sure if a stock convertor would be ok.

Sam (Bones)
a stock converter would work fine for those specs
Mike 57
Pretty mild cam stock converter should work.

shoalssales
And what kind of hp do you think this motor will have? Thanks I appreciate everybody's help
shoalssales
I know a guy that rebuilds stock converters but I'm not sure If I should get a 1500 stall or a 2400 or just get a stock convertor from a parts store.
footballubet
Make sure you get a 30 spline converter. The earlier trans used a 27 spline input shaft.
Sam (Bones)
I would say a 1800-2000 stall you're probably in the neighborhood of 350+ HP, but it will make great! torque
