beater72
Has anyone removed complete ac system, including inside controls etc and gone with non ac setup? I realize firewall etc is different. just wondering if anyone here has done this and what all was done with the heater core etc. I do plan on buying firewall ac delete kit/cover too. Can i still use the non ac underdash assembly and relocate heater core to fit the ac firewall?
Sam (Bones)
to use the no ac controls you will need to use the no ac heater box, you will also need to plug the heat hose holes and cut new ones for the no ac heater core, most people take a section of firewall from a no ac car, cut out the ac section and weld in the new no ac section, you will need to drill new hole for mounting too
monte70car
It's a pain in the butt, but it does look better if the a/c compressor has been removed. I brought a complete non-a/c system along with the firewall padding. You will have to weld up the old heater core location and cut a new heater core opening. By making this change you lose the air flow coming from the dash vent.
monte70car
Here are a few pictures of the car getting switched over to complete non-air. Here is a picture of the padding marking what needs to be cut Outside back in place and the outlets for the heater core in place
beater72
Thanks for the input...looks like im going to keep all the AC stuff then and just put the engine bay delete cover on it!
bigscaht
thats what i did just use the ac delete cover and either delete the two rubber hoses or keep the connected to the heater core. much easier that way
beater72
What did you end up doing to the blower motor resistor?
