Hammer97321
As I am dismantling the engine on a 1970 Monte Carlo I ran across this device. The 2 vacuum lines were both plugged into different ports on the carburetor. One on the side and the other on the rear. What is it used for? 1970mcss
That is the TCS solenoid for the transmission
Hammer97321
Every I can find tells me I do not need to hook it up and transmission told me he was just going to pull the transmission switch since he said they all eventually leak. If I pull the solenoid do I just run a vacuum line between the two carb ports and call it good.
Rancid87
You could just cap the vacuum ports on the carb if you don't want to use the solenoid. Its purpose is to advance ignition timing.
