overdrive
My 70 SS code is CRK 121 0B1. The car has never been repainted and the bottom of the trunk lid has the remains of the positrac sticker. The diff is a posi and the code and actual ratio match at 2.56:1. I don't know why the last character is a 1. The info on this site shows it should be a letter. Can anyone help? axle decode
Sam (Bones)
PM Alex (alex's72fgmc), he's real good with our rear axles
Tazman
There should also be a letter code stamped beneath the axle code to provide source information. ie: a E would denote Eaton as the posi traction source. Axle source codes are supposedly only to be a 8 digit alpha numeric code. You seem to have 9. Wish I had a answer for you but I don't. If you find out post it here I would be interested to know. overdrive
Thanks for the replies, fellas. This is the one from the example on this site: C GB 10 05 B E . It has 9 characters, too. I was expecting to find my last character to be a D, E or W to show the origin of the posi. I'll check for a letter below the code.
