ScottNM
The build sheet says M38 CBC. Is that a TH350?

ScottNM
Is a 396 to stout for that tranny?
James G.
If the 396 hasn't been built up much from stock, I would say you should be o.k., providing the TH350 is in good running order to begin with. I personally like the TH400 a little better, they seem to be able to take more abuse, but a built TH350 can take quite a pounding itself, have fun with your Monte! -James

DRDIRT11
is it possibal the trans was changed when the engine was switched out?
ScottNM
Well, it has the square look with a smaller square section missing on one corner, although in the back it bevels up a little and Ys together a little. So not totally sure but think its a TH350.
