wallaby Posted July 16, 2011 Share Posted July 16, 2011 If you have an aluminum cam sprocket, it had a nylon coating on the teeth. Any of the aftermarket/upgrade sprockets without plastic are made of iron or steel. Just to be sure, I'd drain your oil and use a piece of wire bent in such a way that you can put it through the drain hole, and use it like a rake or hoe across the bottom of the pan in an effort to pull some debris out.
