sdaztecs92115
Hi all, I am restoring my grandfather's 1970 Monte Carlo. I have been able to remove the window trim molding successfully. I need to move on to the rain drip molding and lower body molding. What's the best way to remove these without damaging them. Thanks!!!!
overdrive
For the drip rail stainless, I like to use a piece of wood like a door shim. Put the side of it up against the bottom lip of the trim and tap lightly with a small hammer. Using a wide piece of wood will spread the pressure out and not damage the trim. Just move it along the trim and keep tapping. Also, an old style bottle opener with some tape on it to protect the trim will work good, but just be very careful.
