NewTimer
So I have been looking at replacing my fuel pump and have came across most aftermarket ones only come with what I am am assuming is an inlet from the gas tank and outlet that feeds to the carb. Our stock pumps have a third which I think is a return line or maybe a vapor return. What would have to be done to to switch to the two port fuel pump from our stock. Would capping the return at the gas tank be fine? Main reason of wanting to do this, is to avoid clearance issues with March Pulleys which has a mid mount compressor
Sam (Bones)
you can buy a correct pump, or just plug the smaller line which is a return line
footballubet
When I replaced all my lines I eliminated the return line. Just make sure you plug it real good.
NewTimer
So when I plug the line, would I need a fuel pressure regulator?
Sam (Bones)
depends on the pump you choose
NewTimer
What factors does it depend on? I have a 80 gph mechanical pump 5.7 to 8 psi from a long time ago that I never used.
Sam (Bones)
you shouldn't need one for that pump but I would use one, Holley's like 6 1/2 PSI
