  1. Just painted.
  2. It was more about the cam that I was thinking of. I remember going through that routine with a mild cam in a 327 that I put in a 70 Firebird that I built for my wife many years ago.
  3. Point taken. Yea it doesn’t make sense. Kinda like the George Carlin bit about hot water heaters.
  4. Thanks for posting, Glen. I was having a hard time getting a visual on that. Definitely not for me. Maybe that’s why I’ve never seen one.
  5. Was wondering, do those Blueprint engines come pre broken in? I’d assume so because it came with a dyno spec sheet.
  6. There is a thread here that addresses that, along with the use of distilled water. I believe that it was Joe that posted a real good technical bulletin on the subject. I’m sure someone here can post a link to it. But basically we should be staying with the green and distilled water. I just use a major brand such as Zerex, Peak or Prestone.
  7. She sure sounds healthy.
  8. Boy, I’m having a real hard time getting a visual of one on a Monte. Never seen one on a Monte, or even a Chevelle for that matter. They look great on the BOPs though. Would there be a way to photo shop one on a Monte? Being computer illiterate, I wouldn’t have clue on how to do that though.
  9. My sentiments exactly. If it started as a shell, then I get it. It is a beautiful car though. It appears that every tell tale clue that might point to it being real has been removed. Unless they have some docs, it may as well be a restomodded base car with SS monikers. 1 step forward and 2 steps back.
  10. 4 cars and a truck. 69,71,05,13,15. 1268.00/yr. Have another car and truck, 64,84, both with non ops.
  11. All while pulling a small trailer to boot.
  12. Sore point? I’ve just been gutted and filleted. Thank you California 🤮
  13. 9 1/2
  14. For the collector who has everything. What a cool rig.
  15. You’re right about the description. After seeing your post I went back and reread it. Didn’t realize how good it was.
  16. You’ll find that the assembly on the steering column is part of the locking mechanism that locks the transmission in park when the key is in the lock position.
  17. Welcome to the club Andrew. Looks like it’s coming along nicely.
  18. Nice car. That’s another one worth taking a look at or paying a reputable person do that for you. Price appears very fair. Noticed the linkage tying the trans to the column is missing. Probably due to the conversion to the center console. When doing a trans swap like that, can the horse shoe shifter still be locked by the steering column as the factory did for the 3 spd. autos?
  19. That looks like something worth taking a look at. Like all the photos.
  20. Sure nice when things finally come together.

    Shocks

I chose the Bilsteins. Check with Jegs, they had a smoking deal on them for awhile. I painted mine black.
  22. I use Simple Green for cleaning, then 303 Protectant (as John shows). It deepens the color a little, adds a little sheen, then dries to a non oily non dirt attracting surface.
  23. Yes, too much rust for me. The panel between the trunk lid and the rear window most surely needs to be replaced too. That being said, it appears to have some cub apeal. If someone could get into it for 20k+ and do some minor cosmetics and leave the rust alone they could still have a 20 footer driver that would still get noticed.
  24. Welcome, nice looking car. Let us know what your plans are for it.
  25. Sure would’ve been nice to see it go to a real enthusiast for the 49.5, as opposed to someone just looking to make a fast buck.
