Well I was hoping to hear less than 3k, so you didn’t disappoint. Of the 3 cars + 2 pickups I’ve painted, the last one was around 1981, using the common siphon feed gun. Everything done in a 2 car garage. I think Gravity feeds came shortly after. Materials have changed since then, so if I do it again, there is research to be done. What with fluid tip sizes, PPE and techniques. Definitely have to get a gravity feed. Ive been working off and on, on a 64 Buick Special Deluxe to use as a driver. Have to be careful not to get too upside down on it. It would be completely different if it were a Chevelle. Back in 91, I worked out a deal with a painter that allowed me to do all the prep and priming on my 84 GMC crew cab dually. I brought it to him blocked and stripped of all trim, and had the bed removed along with the front windshield. I also did the jambs. Got a smoking deal that way, but with no guarantees. Still looks good to this day. Might have done it all myself but the color was silver. Not an easy color to do. Probably never find another painter to agree to do that again.
