  1. its crazy the other thing you can find to repair when you can stand inside the trunk. I used part of the left side trunk floor replacement panel to repair this corner on the right side and got the left side welded in..jus a few more spot welds on the bottom to do then before I put in the center section..im gonna paint the inner fenders and 2 side sections with some black epoxy primer and also the rear of the trunk where the latch is. gonna paint all that then close her up..
  2. Its crazy the repairs you can do when you have a big hole in your trunk...this was a rusted out corner where i used part of the replacement trunk floor panel from the other side. this dam snow ball is fighting back...lol
  3. i went through the same thing but i rented a spring compressor..but it will squeez out through that bottom shock hole.. jus talk to her real nice!!!!
  4. yes it is very surpriseing what you get when trying to save some money...no prob ill come out there to Michigan and help as long as its in the summer time..cuz yall winter is no joke..Us Cali folks aint use to that kinda weather....lol Anyways got the left side welded in yesterday...jus gotta finish up the spot welds on the bottom and figure out how to get the center section in there since I cant stand in the big hole and work any more Moving right along..i can finally see the light at the end of the rust fighting tunnel...

  6. started cutting..trimming and fitting the panels today..got the left side pretty much ready to weld now jus gotta get the center section trimmed to fit... glad Im off work this thursday..should be able to finish them up this week.....unless life gets in the way!!!!!
  7. i belive the bolt hole are different on the part where the fender bolts to the fender extensions so if u wanna keep the the 70 front end but use the 71/2 fenders your gonna have to drill some holes...others will chime in but i think thats what u will have to do!
  8. the difference between a good replacement trunk floor pan & a cheap one.. glad I dont need that top part!!

  10. finished up my patch for the trunk drop off..didnt wanna buy the body part...
  11. finished my patch panels today... not perfect but noone will see em once its back together
  12. yeah I feel that..thats exactly where mine rusted at..no need to buy..that money can be used for other parts! got it all welded in...time to paint it..seam seal it..then cover it wit some bedliner and be done with it!
  13. ok so I made a patch piece for the lower wheel well..no need to buy a whole new one for this piece.. might as well get all the rust while im in there!! now jus gotta make a patch for that drop off..then I can get the floor in there! yeah I will most likely strip and clean the other side jus to be sure...then paint it all in epoxy black and undercoat it..put the gas tank back in!!!

  15. ok here I go with more rust repair....there is a light at the end of the tunnel....i guess!!! Only got the center piece..still waiting on the left side..and although the right side dosent need replaceing..I might jus do it cuz the rest of the floor will be new metal..but I dunno bout that yet....any tips or suggestions on this job????
  16. started trunk deconstruction today....all the rust is almost gone! This Should be fun!!!!

  20. ive seen them listed as rear trailing arms..so as long as they are listed as for the rear then your fine
  21. i know a lot of painter that use it....hard to sand but a good product fro filling and leveling the body!!

  23. sounds like one of your hinges either needs some lube or replaceing.......
