  1. We now have 63 members registered with me. Keep them coming in. rob
  2. With those tusks coming out of the front fenders it should be named Warthog. rob
  3. Ryan, I am sorry, when typing that list up I missed Utah..... When I sent the list of the city and states of each member Utah was on that list. I have added it to the above post so it is now showing. I have a question for you. I need to know if you received emails in December, January and the first of this month letting you know your dues were due and now overdue. I send out emails each month letting people know their dues are either coming due, due and overdue. Please let me know if you got these emails. If not they may have either gone to your spam folder or I don't have a proper email address for you. Emails me at rob29ford@aol.com rob
  4. I want to thank Aaron for posting that map. I had been looking for a program to create one and Aaron stepped forward to do it for us. I also love those maps!! rob
  5. I just added another state to the post above which makes it 18 states represented. rob
  6. Hey Dennis, that would be great. Keep me posted for sure and don't forget to register it with Carlisle Events because it will be one more club registration and points toward a larger club canopy. Much Appreciated and who knows wouldn't be nice if a (and not really nice) Monte put us one ahead of that other little car club in registered cars in the club name. rob

  8. I just updated the members who have registered with me. As you can see we now have 61 members registered with me. We started with 40 rooms in our contract with the hotel. Since then they increased the rooms in our block to 50 rooms and then to 55 rooms and now they have granted us 60 rooms in our block. Even though we have 61 members registered we have a couple people with rooms at the hotel that are not in our block and we have some members who are sharing rooms with other members so we do still have some rooms remaining. If anyone is planning to attend but has not reserved a room I suggest you reserve a room before they are all gone because I don't know if we will be granted more than 60 rooms. Thanks to you all for your early registrations, it is you who are making this meet such a success!!!!!! On another note, the hotel has just finished their remodeling/updates At one point there was concern about us losing truck and trailer parking spaces in the circular driveway in front of the hotel due to them planning to build another hotel on that spare lot. I talked to the hotel General Manager today and was told that this construction has not started and will not start by the time we are there for our meet so parking and trailer parking will not be an issue. rob

    Hello

Yeah and if you drive that beauty all the way from Iowa and back you may win the longest distance driven award rob
  10. Larry, I am guessing it is an alarm indicator rob
  11. I agree one belt is missing. As some have said, the two on the far right with the small buckles are the lap belts and the belts in the retractors should fit into those buckles. The two on the far left are definitely the front shoulder belts and would fit into the second buckle from the left. The other three large buckles would be for the back seat. What it looks like is you are missing the buckle for the second shoulder harness. rob

    Hello

Welcome Jim as one of our newest full fledged Dues Paying Members. I'm glad to see you made it onto the boards, thanks for letting me know you were having issues getting onto the boars and glad I could resolve them for you. Just a question, has anyone said that we love pictures here on the FGMCC club website??? rob
  13. 2003 was my first Eastern Meet. I walked over to the track to watch some of the drag races. The first vehicle to go down the the track was a novelty run by something like a Chevy Astro van that did a length of the track wheelie. Next was a couple Jet cars. Something happened to one of the jet cars and the driver lost control sending the car into the Jersey barrier right in front of us and then it went across the track and into the Jersey barrier on the other side causing it to roll over and burst into flames. After the fire was out the driver was taken to the hospital but died overnight in the hospital. The foam truck responded but the hose unrolled as the truck was responding and whipped around the rear tire of an awating ambulance and the hose ripped from the foam truck causing all of the foam to discharge up into the air. They had to extinguish the fire with handheld extinguishers. rob
  14. Clearly you have never seen me in my Speedo. rob
  15. If not Thong stories how about Speedo stories. rob
  16. I used to use a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and tap water. I say used to because I no longer use tap water. The reason for this dates back to issues I had with my Model A Ford before I was forced to install a new radiator. For my Model A I never used any antifreeze but used regular tap water because since I have owned it, the car was never exposed to temperatures below 50 degrees. Model A Fords sometimes tend to overheat and their cooling system is not a sealed system so what doesn't spill out through an overflow tube boils out from around the radiator cap. When this would happen the leaking water would coat the engine compartment, hood and fenders with rusty water. A good Model A friend noticed this one day and said are you running tap water in your Model A and I answered yes. He told me to completely flush the radiator and block with a cleaning system and never put tap water in it again. The reason being is the iron in the water combined with the cast iron engine and head is what was creating the rust issues but mostly the iron in the water, not to mention the many other chemicals in tap water. He told me to only use DI water. Due to the many years of only using tap water, even doin the chemical flush of the system did not help the radiator and when I took the radiator to a radiator to have it restored the shop wanted over $1000 to restore the original radiator. This is when I purchased a new radiator and switched over to DI Water. With using DI water I have never had an issue with any rust in the system. rob
  17. If it is an electric fence that could be some neat free entertainment. rob
  18. One of our club activities at this years Eastern Meet will be a poker run. If anyone would like to volunteer to help run this year's driving game please let me know. The Poker run will be held during the day on Thursday. If anyone would have any ideas on other club games for Thursday please let me know. I have started the process of contacting companies about donations for door prizes. This has been the hardest year ever to get companies to make donations. Some are willing to send out goodie bag items but some are even balking at this too. If anyone knows of any companies who may be willing to donate please send me the contact information and I will approach them. With the number of car shows out there I am sure companies are flooded with donation requests so they have begun to just say no to everyone. I have started printing our name badges for all of our members who have provided me with all of the registration information I will need. I would like to thank everyone who has already registered with Carlisle Events. Just a note, Prior to Christmas they were running a discounted rate for registration and I think they may still be offering this reduced rate but I don't know that for sure. Arrangements for our Award Dinner are all set. It will be at the show field on Saturday evening and it will be catered by Alfredo from Marcello's Restaurant. They have been hosting our Award Dinner since the first year they opened and since I have been hosting Eastern Meets in Carlisle and they have hosted our Saturday evening group dinners at every one of the Mini-Meets I have hosted there. We are all set for our Thursday evening Pizza Party at the hotel and Marcello's Restaurant will be supplying our Pizza's for this event too. Weather permitting we will be heading to Carlisle Sports Emporium on Thursday after our pizza party. We will convoy there in our Monte's I wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts on if we should try to find a place for a car cruise on Wednesday evening. We could advertise it in the Carlisle area. This would not be held at the hotel parking lot. The reason we would not do that is we would not want people to know where our hotel is for security reasons. rob
  19. Come on Dennis, we have all seen the amount of room you have on your property to line up cars along your driveway to host a Meet right there. Also if you cleaned parts out of the bedrooms, basement and garage you could free up enough rooms for our members to sleep and you could serve breakfast, lunch and dinner on that huge deck. rob
  20. I am scheduled for my yearly visit to my urologist in February. When I saw him last year, just like every year he gives me an R/X for this years PSA test. I went for that test yesterday afternoon and got my results today.... 1.33 was my result which is on the lower end of the acceptable range of 4.0. I hold my breath every year waiting for my results. Like some other cancers, Prostate Cancer is a cancer that presents no symptoms until it could be too late so having this PSA test can save your life. rob
  21. I used to go start my Monte numerous times during the winter. I did that for several years until I learned that it is not a good thing to do. When you do that and run for only a few minutes it creates a lot of condensation in the exhaust system which will cause it to rust out. I would also think that only running for it a few minutes is not the same as going out for a drive and I suspect it would not get sufficient oil running through the system to properly lubricate it and may create excessive internal wear... I don't know that for sure but I suspect it could create issues. rob
