  5. Hey Heck, you get any money for that?? Id send them a link to your discussion here about how you DIDNT like them Kind of cool that they picked you though
  6. Glad everyone is ok there, I guess I should go out and check all my stuff now too!! Its been a while since I did the suspension on it, thanks for the heads up!!
  7. I do remeber putting in the chrome first, then plugging the weatherstrip into it. It wasnt too big a deal, but it did take time, I dont think I put more than a couple dabs of glue into mine either. Have fun Tim
  8. Yea, but you dont need to pull the chrome to replace the weatherstrip. The chrome is attached to the body, then the weatherstrip goes into that. From what I remember anyway!
  9. The chrome will stay on, the rubber comes out of it Tim. The chrome is screwed on seperately
  10. Glue, and its pressed into the chrome. It has a lip on each side of it that fits into the molding. I dont think there was a lot of glue on mine, just a couple dabs of weatherstrip cement in a few places. To put it in, I just tucked one side up in the channel, then go down the other side with a small nylon window stick and tuck that side in. Its not too bad, Im sure you can handle it
  11. Wow, I dont know how I missed that one Id agree on not holesawing it, I like the idea of being able to return it to normal if you want to, but it is your car, and there is a whole lot of weight in these cars, thats for sure!
  12. Interesting!! Thanks for posting it! Thats some good points Need some of THESE?
  13. Glad it worked out for you (almost) The right side is the one that was a bit long for me too, check that Terry. Its a little hard on the fingers bending them tabs over aint it
  14. Sounds like a real nice car you have there, If you enjoy driving it, do it!! That is a low mileage rare car, I understand you not wanting to touch anything on it though.
  15. I dont really know what they go for, but that seems like a great price to me!!
  16. You made me look through my file of reciepts and see how much Ive spent over the years Terry Actually, it reminds me of all the work that went into it, and its almost time to drive again!! Good bye winter and salt, Hello cruise nights and car shows!!!!!!!!!! And just plain cruising
  17. Terry, I just checked my reciepts, I actually got that set from Musclecarsonly.com the part # was KT42000, it was an entire kit for 225 bucks, the part # on the molding felts alone was RP45000, description was 70-72 Monte Carlo Side Glass Window Seals WSM (with special molding) Here is a direct LINK $75. That is a real good place also, I have used them a bunch. Rob Peters turned me on to them, I asked for Jim. I do remember having to trim one of the door ones because it was a bit too long, I trimmed a small amount off of it, but other than that they were real nice.
  18. My 71 had them on it originally, I dont remember the actual code on the build sheet, but they are original. The window felts for them are different, there is no chrome bead on the felt. I got my felts from Oldmusclecars.com I like the looks of the chrome there, breaks up all that green nicely!! Ps, you still hanging out in yards around here Terry?? Its finally warming up and staying light longer, Ill be out to Airville soon!
  19. The Parts Place Part # BP1063M for 12 bucks a pair. I got mine from them, but havent installed them yet
  20. That was the problem with my Olds, nothing a screwdriver in the carb couldnt fix!! Once that was taken care of and fixed, it was good as new. You could always go manual choke on it
  21. Very cool story! Thats something that movies are made of
  22. Id say if your rear dash is getting wet, Its not going to be your trunk seal, most likely a window seal problem or rust in the window lip. Good luck with it
  23. Great Pics Bruce!!! Thats real nice! Thanks for sharing that
  24. Ive seen cars with a thin magnet on it that covers the bottom of the quarter panel, thats removable, kind of like a door magnet for a work truck. As far as the inner fenders, not sure there.
  25. I saw that one too, just never saw it run, Monte's day will come...... eventually! For now we can enjoy being the odd one out!
