  1. It's usually the other way around. If the resistor is bad, you lose the lower speeds.
  2. That's YOUR problem. I pressure you, you beg her....simple.
  3. Good, I'll start next week then.... Mark, are you following this? 😁
  4. Let us know what you find. If that doesn't help, we'll dig deeper.
  5. Oh boy, sorry for your loss as well Paul.
  6. Very sorry for your loss ☹️. I googled 71 Monte Carlo line clip art and a few good ones came up. Looks like the artists put a 'watermark' over then, but I'm sure you could purchase the art from them to get a clean copy? This one is a 1970, but close... Here's another: Google Search results: ttps://www.google.com/search?source=univ&tbm=isch&q=71+Monte+Carlo++Line+Clip+Art&fir=l_WrnIyHz7d-WM%2CzsTM4M_Ki8dHKM%2C_%3BkPLu_92KDhKslM%2C8NpeC3xUJVL21M%2C_%3Bu29LIRI3vgFdeM%2C0VQf7eJCEtA_KM%2C_%3BAEWKtWeTFg_6bM%2CLvO1Bpw9pjyg9M%2C_%3BkwDYlCzRjkfoAM%2Clw_Yrqn6DJnrwM%2C_%3BbpQzR-8Iq-cYPM%2CV9HL9_A_LsVD3M%2C_%3BxEMRoKK3bDIaZM%2CzsTM4M_Ki8dHKM%2C_%3BLiNoBkji-f72OM%2CLvO1Bpw9pjyg9M%2C_%3BwpWCi64pmsl1_M%2CiURhkzhN6qM7OM%2C_%3BpAbEMXXe7Cv4wM%2C8EYeocoDrhiL_M%2C_&usg=AI4_-kSk6tij9c-imT2E6nS1u3Bm7Uhipw&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj4praPmoP5AhVyEGIAHRVoCQcQjJkEegQIAxAC&biw=1423&bih=657&dpr=2.25
  7. C.K, you already know you can count Doug & myself in for next year, plus I'll be bringing the Monte as well. This year I left it home, to sort of see how it was all going to shake out, but half way thru I wished I would have just brought the car. Can't wait!
  8. I think there's a plastic inline fuse holder, with a 30 amp fuse, in the engine compartment that feeds the max blower. It may be in, or close to the plastic wire gutter that's bolted to the firewall (probably will be closer to the passenger side). The wire may be orange, and will terminate at the horn relay buss, which is the power feed for it. I'll double check a wiring diagram in a bit, getting a slow start today 😴
  9. It was outstanding Sam! Hopefully, you and everyone else will consider attending in the future as well. It was amazing the amount of people that came up to the tent asking questions, and sharing stories of first gen Montes they owned in the past.
  10. Yeah, that'll use up a few days of your life that you wish you had back...... It took me about 7 trips to the paint jobber to get the tan paint to match the vinyl top. Hopefully you have a black top.

    ss 12bolt rear end

Some are deceptive too. One of the Olds diffs has 12 bolts on the rear cover, but only 10 bolts on the actual ring gear inside the case. It'll have a smooth rear cover, unlike the Chevy cover with the rib stamped on it to direct oil to the bearings.
  12. Belden Speed has trim stud layout diagrams, but apparently not for the Monte vinyl roof. Closest they have is Chevelle, but may still be somewhat useful for approximate spacing dimensions in common areas. http://www.beldenspeed.com/technical-center-downloads/1970-72-chevelle-coupe-vinyl-top-trim-stud-layout

    ss 12bolt rear end

BOP rear diffs are entirely different than the Chevy 12 bolts, and typically less desirable as well.
  14. This info was in the email attachment in the first post. I highlighted the name & phone number. From: William Gassert To: Rob29Ford@aol.com Sent: Thu, Jun 9, 2022 4:15 pm Subject: 71 monte ss for sale My 71 was purchased from a friend. 1000 miles after a frame off it wound up on its roof. It's been stored inside. I have decided to sell it. It is repairable. If you know someone interested have them call me. 207 858 3091. I live in Central Maine.
  15. Looks like everyone made it home safe from Syracuse today. Can't say enough about the good time had by all out there! It was on my bucket list of things to do, and now I'm wondering why I didn't do it years ago. That being said, it wouldn't have been nearly as fun back then, simply because it wouldn't have been in the company of our FGMCC brothers! C.K., Dennis, Doug, Willie, Mike, Frank, Steve L., Bob B, & myself (and a few others I'm sure to have forgotten, sorry) had a great weekend accompanied by great food, weather, conversation and hijinks 😁. Also managed to meet a bunch of other first gen owners that will hopefully become club members in the near future as well. Didn't take nearly enough pictures, and any pics of the show field wouldn't do it justice in any was at all. Consider that Carlisle is around 80 acres, ... Syracuse is something like 400 acres and the numbers I've heard mentioned say anywhere from 9000 to 11,000 cars in years past (no idea what this year had yet). I took one picture in the early morning before the cars came, but it just doesn't capture how far & deep that section of the grounds go. Cars EVERYWHERE! The quality of the machines were also mind-blowing, just exceptional. A couple of the guys took better pictures & hopefully they'll post them up when possible. We've already made plans to meet up as a group next year, hopefully a lot of other members will join us as well. It really is a 'must see' event for anyone interested in cars, and well worth the trip. Promise you won't be disappointed. Finally, thanks again C.K. for lining up the hotel (and everything) as well, what a nice facility and location that was too. Great job!
  16. No worries there, I'd have your back...
  17. I'd also like to congratulate Jerry on becoming a full dues paying member! Your membership status has been updated as well, Thank you!
  18. Uhhhhhhh ....Alrighty then... nice try... 😜🀣
  19. Well Jerry, you've come to the right place to share your stories & pictures. This group likes pictures, lots of pictures! Also the nicest and most helpful bunch of people you'll find on the planet, bar none. Don't ever hesitate to ask questions or provide info either, this group will never give you grief or problems....well, except for a couple of troublemakers....😁
  20. It's been painted & restored, though I don't know the timeframe. Interior is all original too. He ordered it with the rear load leveler, has the air compressor in the trunk currently, as well.
  21. The original engine gave up after 250,000 miles I think he said. Put in one of the first GM ZZ1 crate engines to replace it.
