  1. Reliving the "Disco" era ??? LOL !!
  2. Is it possible to get the right side as a standard mirror ??? You're probably right that the shape and thickness has an effect. Don't know that I would sand it, might damage the reflective surface and make it useless....
  3. Have you tried them it the housing ?? A dark background will probably give them better contrast. Much like the newer "emergency exit" signs, led lights show up better when in a dark background.
  4. Thick ??? Like farm fresh bacon ?? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... Keep an eye on the sensor that it doesn't interfere/damage the thermostat.
  5. Just remember to put a little extra sealant in the corners after you've installed the cover...... Just in case.
  6. Worst case you can always find a thermostat housing with a tapped port in it...
  7. Trunk releases for those special occasions.... 4TrunkMo.wmv
  8. If you go to Amazon's site and enter your car's make, model, year and engine size, they'll list all the numbers and manufacturers for you.
  9. I got upper and lower rear control arm bushings, top and bottom rear spring shims, front sway bar bushings and connecting bushings...... Some were Moog, some were Performance (?)... The nice thing about Amazon is the free shipping if you buy more than the minimum or have Prime. Not sure if it's the same on the Island.
  10. Are there any tapped holes in the block ?? On my 350, there's a 3/8" tapped hole on the passengers side, about half way along the block. As for mixing senders/gauges, I've found that they are usually "brand specific", each using their own line resistance. Hardware and plumbing supply stores will have pretty much any adapters you can imagine.
  11. When I replaced the differential with a 12 bolt, I got my urethane bushings and shims from Amazon.... Are you looking to replace the control arm bushings as well ?
  12. My understanding is that you want as direct a source as possible.... So as Cbolt (James) suggested, the "IGN" connection on the fuse box is the most preferable. 15 amp or better is also recommended. As well as placing a switch in the line.... Something to do with the shock of starting/ignition may damage the solenoid. But remember, NEVER drive with the switch off, or the lock up torque will burn out. Hope this helps.
  13. Hi Jason, B&M, TCI, and other transmission builders make a kit just for this.... And depending which version of the 700 you have determines which one you'll need. I've included some diagrams that might help you. I did the same thing with a 200r4, but had it rebuilt, so the internal wiring was done at that time. If you've already installed your transmission you're going to have to go inside to change pressure switches and wiring, but just inside the pan. Good luck.
  14. At least they're not mass producing it like the Challenger and four door Charger.
  15. Trans Am Industries has come out with a new model... If they're doing a retro '70 Chevelle, could the Monte be next ???
  16. That even made the news here in Calgary.... LOL
  17. I just drain through the cock at the bottom of the radiator..... Which over the years I've found to leave about a gallon of clean water in the block. I then add a gallon of pure A/F, start the engine, add a second gallon of A/F, and top with tap water. I see here that some prefer distilled.... But here in Calgary, we have some of the purest water in the world straight from the tap, so chemical/iron content is a factor to consider. One thing of note. You may want to add an overflow tank, (there's a great tread on here regarding that). Just to keep from loosing fluid.
  18. Most thermostats come from the same place, but companies like Haynes get first pick of the batch, so more likely a better piece. Not a big fan of the chemical flush as it could damage gaskets and seals...... Like I said earlier, I just "tee" in a garden hose and let the engine run until the water clears up. And yes, the settings for the heater are right to flush that out too....
  19. And spend your kid's inheritance in the process........
  20. Nope..... You'll get to know every nut, bolt, wire and problem like the back of your hand.
  21. I see that, (took a second look.) I went with an aftermarket cap without the relief valve and a 20 lb. release pressure made by Moroso. I'd read that the relief valve caps can have problems.
