So we’re all the 3 speed manuals column shifts?

Wow! It’s probably been 45 years, and never on a Monte.
  3. So sorry to hear that Steve. It’s great you got it early. They’ll assign a score to each of the positive core samples to determine severity. If you google PCRI you can also get more helpful info regarding treatment. I didn’t spend too much time on the internet doing research because it could get too confusing. I was comfortable with that particular site though. The Q and A videos were informative. The treatment has improved greatly, just within the last few years. The radiation treatment is extremely accurate now. Keep us in the loop. Just had my PSA a week ago, same as the last one. 0.1. You got this! Mark
  4. Just ordered an interior rear view from Summit yesterday. Will have it in a few days. Didn’t realize how diverse they were. Always thought of them as just a speed shop.

Welcome Leo, looks like you’re progressing nicely. You’ve come to the right place for any info you need on these cars. If you decide to join, it’s well worth the $25. Keep posting your progress. Mark

I never realized that roller lifters came that far out of the bore. Learned something.

Were you still running a factory radio or aftermarket?
  8. Then there’s the poor owner of that nice crew cab that just happened to be in his way. If it’s not totaled then it’s going to have that Carfax blemish that will definitely hurt the value if it’s later sold. Foolish antics.
  9. It sounds to me like if you’re looking for something that both seals and bonds the channel to the quarter glass, then Willie’s suggestion of black silicone window sealant is the way to go. Bond it, let it cure then trim any excess with a razor blade.
  10. The Armour all was put on with a garden hose. The lower moldings are totally beat and held on with various types of screws. The missing tail panel trim, window crank and wheel well trim. I can understand the lack of trim on the wheel wells, because if you zoom in on the right quarter wheel well, there is no way you’re going to reshape the molding to fit. Hopefully it’s just a missing bump stop on the seat backs and they’re not bent. Definitely something thrown together to flip. Typical dealer antics. Whew!

The second of the 4 initial photos shows the ring.
  12. I’ve been waiting for my floor mats and 1 key blank that I went to their facility to purchase in September. They assured me that there would be no shipping charges, we’ll see. If these were urgent I would’ve cancelled. Never had problems prior to 2020, but this is my second issue now, so I think I’m done. Aarons Monte on the cover is the only reason I’m looking forward to the 24 catalog.
  13. Good to know, I’m thinking about doing the same.
  14. You’re right about that. Wonder how much is in the motor. It would have to be a lot to make up for no heat or AC, the loose fitting upholstery, and the 10 bolt.
  15. I’m glad you brought that up Aaron, because something didn’t look right about that photo. That horizontal trim piece. Those sure are good looking mirrors though.
  16. Great job Aaron! I’ll be looking forward to my 24 catalog. By the way, my bowtie floor mats have been on backorder since September. Can you pull some strings on that?
  17. Anything with a carburetor does that after sitting a week or so. The added ethanol in today’s fuels (here in Cali at least, not sure about other states) causes it to evaporate quicker. I figure the small amount of additional cranking gives a little more time to get some oil pumping before it fires.
  18. Thanks for the info. I see the HP showing must be net, as opposed to gross on the air cleaner label.
  19. Was the driver side remote but not the passenger side?
  20. I wasn’t aware of that. I don’t remember seeing any with them.
  21. They came out nice. What are your side mirrors off of.
  22. Another thing to check, because it looks like you have an aftermarket air cleaner, and that spacer on top of the carburetor looks home made, is to set your air cleaner back on making sure it is down all the way but not fastened to the carburetor, then either open the throttle all the way by hand or have someone in the car press your accelerator pedal to the floor and see if your air cleaner is moving. Or you could look at the underside of your air cleaner base for signs of the linkage interfering with the underside. Also, the cable should not be tight under the nylock nut that attatches it to the carburetor, it should be allowed to pivot on the shaft. Also check to see if the end of the throttle cable is getting pulled all the way into the sleeve and hanging up there.
  23. It would be helpful if you send 2 photos with the air cleaner removed. 1 with someone holding the accelerator to the floor, and 1 with the pedal released. There is a good view of the kick down cable for the transmission but not so for the accelerator cable. That kick-down cable doesn’t look right also.
  24. That is really coming out nice. I like the attention to detail and the “can never have enough protection” mentality.
