  1. I picked up my Qjet from a local parts house (not auto zone or advance) but a store that uses books to look up part numbers. Summit carries race prep Qjets if needed.
  2. For the clock it goes into one of the ports with the cat5.
  3. Got lucky and found a parts company that had the correct fittings for the transmission so that item is now cross off my list of items needing to get done.
  4. Tapped out some areas on the air cleaner so it clears the so call fuel bowls Now I have to figure out the power brake fitting as it fits one of the runners on the intake. Don't want a plumbing nightmare.
  5. Got headman headers on one big block Monte and a used set on the other.
  6. Murphy got the check today. Hopefully I can find a box to put it in and can mail it out on Saturday, I will let you know when it does ship out.
  7. Lifted off the cover on my 70 to check something and said nope I'm not going to go and stick my hand under the dash. Had a little field mouse in it and don't want to meet him right now. So I went over to the 72 and ran more wires. Got the under dash gauges all hooked up, got the EFI brain wired in.
  8. Murphy I paid $175 for it probably 10 years ago. The only draw back to it is, it only fits a q-jet as the base is not a drop base. The top is original chrome but had rust spots showing so it was painted a gray metal flake color.
  9. I have a dual snorkel air cleaner that was on my 70 but took it off once the hood was built.
  10. Did some work under the old 72 this afternoon. Got the transmission cross member bolt in. Got the little stall speed hooked up. Changed out the front lug nuts for center line lug nuts for the wheels. Thinking of adding a dust shield to the transmission. The lowest thing on the car is the trans pan lol.
  11. I need some help so summit racing let me down on a part, year one let me down on a part. So here is what I'm looking for, I'm looking for the fittings that goes into the transmission case so the lines can connect to the trans. My aftermarket lines won't screw into the trans as the fitting is the same size as the port. The part number I got from summit was rnb-800-755 which list for fitting a 350 trans but a 76 and later 350. Did GM change the fitting size as I have a 78 400 trans that took the 350 fittings.
  12. Here is the layout for mine The brain for the dash is on the right side of the glove while the box on the left is the trans temp box which is plugged into the dash box.
  13. The cat-5 was long enough I turned it so the ports were towards the cluster for an extra inch or two. I have a picture I can post later tonight.
  14. Mine is on the top of the glove box easy to get to if you have to. I also added an add-on to watch the trans temp in the dash and the dash lighting control knob under the dash.
  15. Well finished up the wiring for the EFI system and the MSD box. Still got wiring to do as the other power seat ain't done yet and the radio ain't done or the gauges under the dash.
  16. Rick did you reconnect the grounds for the front lights back to the radiator support? That would be the only reason I know of them not working.
  17. I had some old flowmaster that broke down on the inside car would always pop we thought it was the valves.
  18. I wanted to get you all's thoughts on this. A few years ago I changed my 70 over from a factory A/C car to a non-A/C car changed the tstat to 160° fresh coolant 50/50 and added a 16PSI radiator cap. When the coolant was add the heat was on hot temp never got pass 180°. Driving around in the mid 80's and 90's in the summer the temp climbs up to 219° and once it cool down the coolant is only half when it was full. Do you think the 16PSI cap is to much? it has a 402 that was bored 40 over stock and the deck was shaved. on the cooling side it has a 93 GMC truck radiator with dual elec fans which cover the surface of the radiator which sits inside the stock shroud and a clutch fan on the water pump which spins at low speeds. Elec fans come on if the car reaches 200° and then run after the car is shut off to cool it down. I don't want to go down the same problem with my 72 so it doesn't have a radiator cap for its new radiator so this will also help in getting the right item for it. It will be using Evans cooling liquid in it so maybe a 16PSI cap would be ideal for that don't know.
  19. I pushed the 72 outside to get an over all look of the new add on's and still need to finish (start one of them).
  20. Those clips will take a screw, which goes from the inside of the door flange out to the chrome. I just received side trim for my other Monte so I'll try and open the package and see if I can find that clip and screw.
  21. I did the same as Larry but with JBL speakers.
  22. Dan it might be just pipe thread. I know when the trans line is screwed in there is no play so I was thinking it was good and with the nice weld job on the side tank figured it might have the fitting already welded in. I do have another set of connectors like what the trans needs but when it screwed in it bottom out which don't seem right.
  23. Do you all think I need the connector for the radiator? This is what the fitting looks like inside
