  1. its mainly goin to be used in a street car. with a solid roller dont u have to adjust the valves after so many hours?
  2. i have a family member who is talkin about goin roller in his 468 big block. how do u go about putting the lifters in? do u tighten them down like hyd. lifters and then a 1/4 turn more or do u just tighten them down until the push rod doesnt move.
  3. u can use the same crossmember u will either move it back or towards the front. drive shaft might have to be cut
  4. stick here is a thread with sound clips http://www.firstgenmc.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=121025#Post121025 has everything from flowmaster to spintech.
  5. plus it extar weight in a race car right sam
  6. i know the b&m shifters does. the hurst shifter i dont have a clue. from what i was lookin at i think i rather have it ratchet one way not both ways. even the stock floor shifter is a ratchet shifter from low to drive or low to overdrive if u have a over drive trans.
  7. mean while when u pull it back from second to first u blow the trans b/c of the rpm's the motor is turnin in that one gear. sounds like to me u got a shifter thats set up for a reverse valve body or one for a manual valve body.
  8. u could drill a small hole in the thermostat or u could add an small elec. fan to the front of the raditor or even mounted inside the shourd and have a stwich inside to turn it on and off.
  9. try wwww.jasperengine.com they carry trans as well. i believe most of their trans are stock builted. as for a 700r4 u might want to try www.700r4.com they have three different levels for trans.
  10. colonel if it helps i run 16x7 on the front of my monte and 16x8 on the back tire size is 255/50 front and back.
  11. got that stlye of bosster on the elkie the one on the monte is a single diaphragm.
  12. tim their cable is the same as the stock. as far as the bracket goes im running the holley bracket for a 700r4 the main thing is to make sure the line psi is right or u will cook the trans.
  13. im not sure what size the bosster is as it came from a 83 trans am that had 4 wheel disc. the valve covers r tall valve cover.
  14. colonel i used the proportioning valve that was on the trans am. here is a pic of my bosster for my rear disc i used part # A125-3 as far as the front brakes they r the stock disc. if ur axle have c-clip eliminators the kit u r lookin at wont work.
  15. my monte has 4 wheel disc stock setup in the front and ssbc kit in the back booster and master cylinder is from a 83 trans am which had 4 wheel disc.as far as the 9" bosster not fittin the monte dont believe that as the monte has the same firewall as the chevelle. the rear disc from ssbc will fit 15" wheels in the back.
  16. i got a 700r4 behind my bb thats builted to handle 450hp. have the same trans behind a 355 sb which puts out 390hp. they both came from 700r4.com. the monte even has the stock rear end 2.73 gears and the trans is still kickin. 700r4.com also builds 200r4 and the 4l80e.
  17. from what i have read its a nice dash setup. the only problem i see is the sun making the dash hard to see. u do get a drag strip program in the dash as well as 0-60.
  18. madmac y dont u want to use the horseshoe shifter? thats what i have in my monte with a 700r4 trans. im not sure what type of look u r goin after.
  19. if u go to the monte sound clips in this forum there is flowmaster, spintech and a free more.
  20. a 295/50 will fit with the wheel wells trimed, i had 15x10 with 5" backspacing on the. current setup is 16x7 with 4" backspacing on the front with 255/50 the rear is 16x8 with 4.5" backspacing with 255/50
  21. josh ur truck might fall under the lemon law if all ur issues r the same problem.
  22. i run a dual 12" felx-a-lite it pulls 2500cfm of air car hasnt ran any hotter then 190°. also has an alum raditor which might keep the temp down some. i have the fans to come on at 190° it also dont pull air though any a/c parts as i did away with a/c i do have a trans cooler which it pulls air though and the trans temp hasnt got above 160° and that was on a 40 mile trip
  23. the driver doors i have dont have that decal i did have a blue decal on the door but it had no vin #'s
