  1. promc welcome to the site, i did my on the g-manchine build went up 1 size on the rims put the same size tires front and back dropped it about an inch lower then stock. it rides nice and smooth and cant tell when u hit a pot hole and handles pretty good. there is a company that makes 68-72 chevelle frames im sure u could make them fit a monte by addin some to the frame.
  2. the bottom of the rear seat is latched in place u will need to push back about 6" from the ends. once the bottom is out u shouldnt need to take the upper half out unless u r lookin for a build sheet. then u have two 3/8 bolts u will have to take out and push the upper half up to get it off the hooks. hope that helps nygel
  3. im more of a flowmaster person run the 30's on the monte detal 40's on the nomad and will have super 40's on the el camino.
  4. steve nice lookin car do u ever reget saling it? also how is ur new one coming along.
  5. dammmm i see the drive shaft is in one piece
  6. u mean u all dont have the ashtray light that runs off of one of the dash lights?
  7. my shifts into overdrive at 40 mph with the 2.73 gears tim. the nomad shifts into overdrive at 40 mph too with its 3.70 gears.
  8. i miss looked at the interior # when i posted my reply
  9. got a 400 trans that will be goin behind a 454 450hp motor the truck/car will only see street use. what will be a good stall to put in it? the only thing that was done to the trans was a b&m shift impover kit which we put in 5 years ago, along with a deeper trans pan. rear gears r a set of 2.73 single track with 26x12 radial m/t sportsmans.
  10. chances r some one probably changed the bench out for the buckets and wanted the interior to match the exteror.
  11. goin by the body tag tony the 748 stands for black cloth bench seat the 48 is forest green the g should be two gg but its a green vinyl top. the crn i believe is a 454 i could be wrong the vin the 13857 tells u its a 2 dr coupe the 0 is for 1970 the l is van nuys assembly plant the rest of the #'s 113476 should also be on the block after the crn.
  12. hey tim i just double checked my drive shaft i have 54"u-joint to u-joint
  13. what do u plan on doin with the car? alot of the old street rods they used to run the 350/350 combo meanin a 350 motor with a 350 trans. the 350 trans will cost less then a 400 trans.
  14. i would go with the 350th the only thing with a 200r4 or 700r4 is the overdrive which is nice for a long drive.
  15. here is what my drive shaft measures cent of u-joint to center of u-joint 53" i have 1" sticking out of the tail shaft. my cross member is in the second hole on the fame which looks to be the same place as the 350 was at. the old 350 trans has a 6" tail shaft
  16. like bill said i have the 2.73 gears with 255/50/16 tires under the rear. from a red light it dont take its time to get rollin like it did with the 350 and 400 trans. it shifts into overdrive at 40 mph turning 2500 rpm's
  17. tim is right i have the stock 350 drive shaft in my monte with its 700r4 trans. the 350 yolk is stronger then the 700r4 so they replaced the old 350 yolk with a new one. monday we took the monte for a 45 mile trip 50-55 mph i was only turnin 1250 rpm's in overdrive.
  18. what do u guys think of this in the monte instead of the reguarl gauages
  19. jared u mean u have the very rare ss 350 car??? just kidding. people around dont ask any question when my is out.
  20. leo i believe its the same company as the camaro
  21. its the 70-72 body ive seen it in the super chevy the camaro body u can get in coupe or covertable. but the sad thing is u have to reuse the vin # on the body u have now.
  22. tony dont forget they r also makin whole chevelle bodys now too
  23. capri is it black cloth? if u r thinkin of goin to vinyl u might not want them in black unless u r goin to use seat covers. the 70 chevlle my dad had had pearl vinyl and u could burn urself after the car was parked in the sun. i would stick to the cloth since this is a much cooler(temp wise) seat.
  24. marchie i think they r the 1.5"x1.5" square clips i got aftermarket on my along with the padding
