  1. I installed the sport wheel on my car years ago and I seem to remember that I needed a different horn contact than what was installed for the standard wheel. You can find the right horn contacts on eBay.
  2. I'd be interested in one. My original has the infamous rust around the attaching bolts.
  3. Thanks for the info George. At this point I'm inclined to start off by trying the roller tips.
  4. Sorry to resurect an old thread... George, did you have any issues with fitting either the roller tip rockers or the roller rockers under the stock valve covers?
  5. He really did do a great job. I use the set of pics for reference when I'm working on my car.
  6. A while back someone had given me some pics of a '70 SS that was restored by Art(?). Here's a shot of the shock protectors.
  7. One thing I've wanted to nail down is whether the air compressors were always black or whether they were cadium plated like the brake booster. I've seen them both ways. My SS had some sort of rustproofing sprayed in the engine bay, so I can't tell what the orginal color was.
  8. Thanks very much, Capri! I'm going to order new cables tomorrow. Jim
  9. Capri, Did you eventually get the correct cables from M&H? If so, could you post the M&H catalog numbers that I would need order them for my '71 SS? After reading through this thread, it sounds like there was alot of confusion over what was correct, so if you finally got some cables from them that worked, I'd like to skip the confusion. Thanks, Jim
  10. What a coincidence - today a friend sent me a link to this fantastic GM car collection owned by Rick Treworgy. Here's the link: http://69.89.25.185/~trexsoft/t-rexsoftware.com/buzzandjackie/collection.htm I don't see the pics of the 4spd SS454 that was in the magazine, but I do remember reading the article. Jim
  11. jlc88 - can you have your uncle take some pics and post them here? It would be interesting to see what those tags are all about. Jim
  12. I recently bought a driver's door that had the wide molding. As Rob and Tony said, there's no narrow chrome trim with the wide molding. One interesting thing I noticed when I removed it was that there was a Z38 (could have been Z58 - I'd have to check) stamped into the door behind the felt. Does anyone know if that was the option number for that trim? Mike - if you're interested in just the piece for the driver's door, let me know. Jim
  13. If the fluid is clear, there's a possibility it's silcone. Lots of cars use silcone in the engine cooling fan clutch. I've heard that Toyota sells small bottles of silicone to use for servicing the fan clutch. Jim
  14. Thanks guys. I had seen a picture of a '72 454 and it had the compressor on the driver's side fender liner. The car was a Custom. Jim
