  1. It also depends on where you have your guage hooked up to, is it in the head or the manifold? If your sensor is in the head you could be getting a hotter reading due to being close to the exhaust manifold or header. My BBC runs around 180ish (sensor in the intake manifold), but it will reach 210 stuck in traffic and not moving. If all the parts seem ok (water pump, radiator is it a 4 core?) I would certainly get a thermostat that opens quicker, before I went to an electric water pump I ran a 160 thermostat
  2. Way to go Mike! Car looks real good!
  3. Sweet! Love the set up, starting to look like a professional race team.....without the full team (who needs more then the driver and Red? ). That trailer is begging for an attached awning. Wish I lived closer.
  4. Davey I believe Steve was talking about your suspension mods
  5. Still waiting for mine, what did you use pony express????
  6. I'll join the team Davey or Andy, I need a tuner!
  7. Sweet Davey!!!! I will have to wait till I get home to watch the vids.....nice job, Red rocks!
  8. And dont forget a full cage Andy Nice numbers on the dyno Davey.....like I said come tune my car anytime I know she has a 20 in her if I bothered to tinker with it.
  9. What about the distributor being off a tooth?
  10. I used to run the Mallory Comp 140 - very quiet, had it in the car for 7yrs with never an issue. Like Sam I run the Magnafuel pump (Quickstar 300) now....very noisy which I like (I will always be a kid LOL), and sorry Sam going on 3yrs and its just starting to seep a little so will regasket it shortly.

    Tires

Jared I ran the ET Streets for years, they are not good on the street at all (compared to the drag radials). Im sure your going to run a tube if its going to see street time and that means your going to have to drill out your rims for the larger value stem (for the tube). Now if its for track only because you want to run a DOT class I understand. Edit - I have 2 sets of rims, one for drag radials, and the other set are ET Drags 28x10.5 that are pinned. In my opinion the ET Drags (full slick) performs better then the ET Streets at the track. From what I remembered reading I believe the slick has a softer compond then the ET Streets Scott

  17. Not yet, its on the "list" for this year.....need the extra $$ and Steve is really busy with Dan's and his own car.
  18. Oh I have total confidence in you ....I told you, you need to come out and tune my car, I bet you could get the Camaro to run 10.20's!!!!
  19. Hey Crazy Davey, I'm not afraid to say it......I am totally shocked that you got that combo in that car into the high 10's!!!! (timeslip just a mere formality at this point). Way to go
  20. They have real good photographers in Cali!!! Nice pic Davey
  21. The rule of thumb is a tenth for every 100lbs Nice Dave, very impressive
  22. It's likely that if your 454 is making 700hp+ it is a race gas motor. Hard to make that kind of power on pump gas without going with bigger cubic inches. The more details the better, plently of people on here who can give you some ideas about the specs/combo.
