willie replied to 420ponies's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
Dennis i was just going to say that!!! I don't think its weld i think its brazed, but you can have it done. expensive but if you want date/numbers matching worth it!! Jim sorry to hear of this. I know i have one but it has the emission tubes, probably not for your car. -
Welcome Kevin!!!! A great group here always willing to help!!!! She looks pretty good to me as a starting point!!!! Lyle if you are reading this, the console in Kevins car has the cups that i was talking about. The only ones i have seen.
-
Dennis it's impossible to repay everyone for the banana stuff, you really earned that yourself!!!! lol And we Love you for it!!!
-
Lyle i have never seen them on the console (not saying they weren't there), i only seen the cups there. However they or something like them were definitely the ones i seen in the pic on the rear seat!! Nice pic!!!!
-
Lyle the ones on the console i have seen a few times, they are cups where the buckle of the seat belt sits in them. Thats not what i seen in his pic.
-
Mark that could be them, i only seen one pic but the belt was attached, like i say they were chromed some how. Tkx for that as at least we know that could of been them!
-
Aaron and Rob what you both said is exactly what i remembered and told him. I never seen them before either, so he showed me a pic looks like what you showed but it looked like it was topped with chrome or made of metal that was chromed. He also showed me a build sheet with 3 codes for seat belts, they are AK1, A39, A85. I had told him, none of these were dedicated to the cups as far as i knew. He said it might of been in a package and i agreed with that but still wasn't convinced, because i never seen them ever. As far as the cruise control, i said exactly what you said that NO SS had it because of the pump. He said he had no proof but seen it and the unit was mounted on the frame below the pump. I was guessing dealer install also because i remembered Bruce saying he installed his. He was a great guy, his name was Mike, very knowledgeable from his experience with rebuilding our Montes and others (I seen pics, beautiful cars). I tried to convince him to stop by the club but he wasn't interested.

Just like Mark states still deserve a kudos and or a banana now and then for all that you do to makes this club the best!!! TY Always lol

How do you plan on moving it Dennis??? -
Like Bruce said Thanks to ALL the Administrators for everything they do!! In front, and behind the scenes!!!
-
Rob while i was in Carlisle, i handed about 5 or 6 cards out to people who already had Monte's and never heard of the club. We will see how many will become members. Also i spoke to Chad, (Green SS) he happened to be there also and he said he might take a ride but not sure if he was staying more than a day!

Not sure it will ever be ready enough to drive it that far AAron!!! But if i am not mistaken, there were some promises made that if you came here, we would go there!!! And by we, that would be Joe, Dennis and I, and anyone else that would like to go!!! And I do still standby that, but still not sure about driving there! Dennis is correct!! However if anyone would like to wage Dennis twice the amount, like large amount i might go if i can split it with you!!! LOL -
