  1. Hooker Comps 2" here, however, I used studs for my heads and had to grind the header flanges quite a bit so they would fit properly. Oh, and I also moved my brake prop valve without having to replace my brake lines. Mike
  2. DJ, just got mine aligned last year and when I priced around, they all had the shims. I went with a guy here locally, believe it or not a GM dealership, that does a lot of older/muscle cars there. Paid like $60.00 which was a little cheaper than most. Mike
  3. I used Thermo Tech (cool-it) sound deadening and heat barrier. It's just like Dynamat only much cheaper. You just have to figure out what thickness you want just like all the other leading brands. I purchased mine from Jegs a few years ago but they still carry it and they have free shipping right now. Mike
  4. Both of mine are the same on my 70 and are exactly like your drivers side, threaded inside. Mike
  5. I would go with the RPM Air Gap too, however, on my BB it causes a clearance issue with a stock hood. I am running a Edelbrock 800 with a 2" filter and no spacer. It is only a fraction away from the bottom of the hood, even with a drop base. I also have a Holley but it sits higher then the Edelbrock and won't fit. There are more drop bases out there specifically for Holley carbs (Corvette App) that would probably give me more of a drop but I haven't pursued it since I wan't more of a street friendly ride. Mike
  6. Very nice! Love the color, it really makes that elephant under the hood stand out. Mike
  7. Awesome!!! Never even saw another car in the other lane.
  8. That is how I did mine and I would stay with the one piece.
  9. Man, only 5 of us green guys? There has to be people out there not voting. Mike
  10. Man, send it down here I'll put it to use! We have one at my work too and I love using it, though a little messy it cuts great!
  11. This is the one I have: http://www.eastwood.com/mig-welders-175-amp-mig-welder-w-spool-gun.html I love it!!! The only issue is you have to have 220 to run it. That will be an issue in looking for a welder, what type of power supply do you have or plan to have? Eastwood has some good welders but there are better ones out there though mostly matter of opinion. As I said, the one above is easy to use and it comes with pretty much everything you need including 2 spools of wire. It comes with a spool gun for aluminum too. You just have to get a gas bottle from a welding supply shop like Airgas (down here). It also doesn't come with gloves or a decent helmet. It has a stupid hand held mask which went right in the garbage when I got it. I would find out what you are going to have for power supply, then research who has the best deal and who gives you the best bang for your buck. Miller, lincoln, Thermal Arc, Eastwood just to name a few. Good Luck! Mike
  12. These guys can help you out. http://www.transmissioncenter.net/speedometer_calibration_______va.htm
  13. Thanks anyway Jared, I wanted to get it quick and for the price of a new one I went ahead and bought it.
  14. Thanks Sam!!! I am calling them right now.
  15. I am looking for a passenger side front fender trim pice that goes at the top of the fender near the windshield. It basically follows the hood trim piece. Preferably, a reasonably priced nice undented straight piece. Thanks, Mike
  16. Thanks all, I am working on putting all the trim back on the car but ran into a speed bump. I purchesed the long lowest trim piece with all the wierd clips included from Dixie Monte Carlo but the clips are for a different size hole. Looks like I will have to drill them out a little in order to get them to fit unless I an figure out where I can get some new & correct size clips. Mike
  17. I bought my rear bumper from Tamraz (link below) and it was a perfect fit with no core required. I found it to be very good quality and it was way lees then rechroming. Though, I agree with Sam if you have an original and can afford it, have it rechromed. Mike http://www.tamrazs.com/
  18. Just got her back from the shop today. It is painted British Racing Green which has a butt load of pearl in it, especially when the sun hits hit. It was cloudy down here today. Many thanks to Tony (7tonemonte), for helping me out and providing me with professional advise and color cards!!!! 19. Man, Ken you are right! It definately looked like you had a couple of flame throwers under your plate. Nice Monte by the way! Mike
  20. Ken, you have to use one of the photo sites that are available out on the web like Photobucket as an example. Then you can start posting your pics here. I don't talk too much computer but maybe someone will jump in or PM you with more instructions. Mike
  21. Thanh, thanks for the pic! Yes, actually I thought about the way you did it, and I like it. The only problem is that I have seen lots and lots of dust kicked up with those. Maybe if they were turned differently? Not sure about the under the license plate thing but I don't think it is a look for me. I can't believe I am having such a hard time with this so maybe I will ask the place that is going to customize my exhaust for his opinions. Who knows, maybe he will have a few cool ideas. Mike
