  4. There are cracks around the radio knobs and it has some chips around it im not to worried about keeping the dash original i have a few other round style chevelle and Monte dashes i like the glove box idea i have a cb mounted in the glove box of my k5 blazer might go that route
  5. What kinda carb are you running sounds like a Q-jet with the power valve poped out,this doesn't sound like vapor lock my 70 monte tank has a few vents sounds carbish
  6. No its not it white and silver doesn't look like it belongs it sticks out like a sore thumb
  7. Ya i meant to say 8 (eight) track player sorry there a bit before my time,it doesn't work so it has to go theirs a few 8 track tapes in it it looks like a big cassette tape cant believe any one ever used them

Hey guys i have a brand new jvc cd player/radio still in the box and my Monte has some old broken A track player i want to cut the dash but i dont know how to go about it i thought about tracing the insert on the dash around the old radio and drilling a 3/8 hole in the corner and using a fine hack saw blade to cut it out but i dont want to [you said a naughty!] my dash up what do you guys think i know some one here has cut there dash

  10. Nice looking Monte I like the dash insert no more wood grain
  11. 4 bolt main blocks or good in a hipo engine but for a mild 350 2 bolt mains are fine they hold up fine
  12. I wws jest giong to buy a performer intake and angle the center 4 bolt the make angled washers for them but I guess ill keep looking its hard to fine good heads out here there all cracked or jest flat out junk any one have any good sbc head that are ready to go

I have a set of gone threw 193 swirl port heads given to me they look jest like the vortec heads but there not iv been told there great ware torque is needed they have have 64cc combustion chambers because there swirl port heads i was told there only good up to 4,500rpm What do you guys think about these heads any one have any experience with them form what i see some people like em some people hate em i don't know why but im having a hard time finding vortec heads i thought these where vortecs till i ran the numbers

  16. I'm pretty sure all montes are top post correct me if I'm worng any one and all factory chevy 350s came with 1.5 ratio rockers
  17. Jest swap in a hei set up in its real simple to put in all they need is jest one key on power wire
  18. What kind of air bags i have the ones the you stuff in the springs but i have to fill them my self with a air compressor
  19. Been there done that I did up a set of 416 305 heads screw in studs 1.94/1.60 valves new valves tons of time in porting and in the end there was a crack in the chamber but luckly for me I did all the work on the books at work for my self still sucked in the end all ways check for CRACKS
  20. Thanks so what's the max you can take a over bore 350 is it like the big chevys if you get a bow tie block the bore is thicker and thare for can be bored larger
  21. I found out that the po had my 350 bored .060 over what's that make it I'm not much of a math guy my self
  22. I could only dream of a big block k5 mines jest a 350 beefed up a bit

    K5 build

    Well i know this isnt a Monte Carlo but its a Project this is my first truck drove it for 2 years till last week the transfer case went all i have for now is some befor pic but ill take some of the after pics 2 marw theres still much work to be done right now its sitting on 33inch tires i have a 6 inch lift theat well be going in soon and i have to finish the driver side floor pan i finished the bed 2 months ago so heres a few rusty befor pics got all the new metal form lmc trucks [/img] Ill take some pics of the bed floor soon the hardest part was lifting the body up 1 inch on the driver side jest got to love the ny rust
