  1. Dennis, Can you clear out some of your PM messages. Your page is full and I want to send you a PM.
  2. Larry, Glad you are back. Could you send me those pictures? I have been looking for that raw material You will be shocked on some of the prices. Check out www.mcmaster.com for the rubber. Also I found this at www.customautotrim.com Search part MDG108. Maybe with some more rubber on the back side it might not look so bad. Bookmark the site because they have a lot of stuff. That molding is supplied bt C Cowles. They are right next to my town. My Grandfather worked for them. I'm 66 yrs. old. They used to supply all the chrome trim screws to GM back in the day. I requested two samples. If I get them I'll send you one. What is the best mailing to Canada? I sent something to Darren and it took forever to get to him. My son-in-law up in Canada alot. I'll ask him if he goes to Ontario. He sells the Spider and Ski-Doos. He has a position with the company. " Bombardier." Cheers, Carl
  3. I know already that you bought that Cardone item. Why not take it back and buy one from our vendors. SS396.com has 11" w/delco for 179.95 #BMK-11SD and 169.95 without delco. That also has no bleeders. I would go with #BMK-11BD 194.95 different master cyl. with bleeders. I put that in my Monte and it really stops great. Check them out. Carl
  4. Larry, Here's a thought. Make it out of alumniun. That way it could be Tig Welded. Then dip it in that rubber they sell for tools. Even better. Heat Shrink it. They do sell the larger sizes. I did my tin knockers hammer handle.
  5. I see it. Try this. Hold Ctrl it's on the left side bottom on keyboard. While holding Ctrl down Press + up on the number line the picture will get larger evertime you hit +. Then - to bring it back. Also put the arrow from the mouse on the picture.
  6. Larry, The Parts Place told me the same. This was yesterday. After he stated the price I asked if it was a repop and he said yes. Carl
  7. Any measurements yet? The pictures look okay. The strip looks like a triangle. The true angle would be great with the dimensions.
  8. Larry, Are you sure that all SS 71 Montes should of had that rubber strip. I thought both the strip and the guards were options. You could not get both. So if the 71 SS had either it would still be correct. I'm sure Steve from Long Island would know. I also like the challenge and always stay with it. Keep me informed. I'll help. Carl Hanson, Connecticut
  9. Larry, If your bumper has the rear guards like you front does that would still make it correct for a SS. I'm sure you knew that. Lets stay on the subject and see if it could be made . I made the hockey stick mouldings out of the regular ones. Just need to cut off the flange and heat them a little to form the new radius and use double face tape to install them. I have not installed them yet. My 71 is not a SS. Just playing around. I got nervous when I read defibrillator. That was funny. Carl
  10. Larry, I just called the Parts Place for you. They have one left. The Company that made them went out of business. $599.00. He also said someone just called and asked for the same part. Was that you. Maybe someone has a good picture with the dimensions and a side view. Maybe it could be made. I also would use double face tape to install it. That would be if it is home made. Their is a lot of talent on this site. I'm sure it is worth the effort. I'm in. Carl
  11. I would say your problem is the motor. If they are original they are having a Birthday at 40 years old.
  12. Sorry Willie. All I have is 70 & 71. Gm made a lot of changes in 72 with their engine and dash harness. You have that hard to finf horn relay. I would stick to 72 stuff. I do have a 72 complete Monte if you need some answers as you go along. Carl
  13. I have always bought from americanautowire.com 866-405-1367. They are right in NJ. They also go under factory fit. As far as I'm concerned they are the best. That is all I have in my 71 Monte. Is your Monte a 71 or 72? You need to match the dash harness to the year of your car. Also, are you running factory gauges or warning lights. That also makes a difference. Let me know. I might beable to Help you out. I live in Connecticut. Carl
  14. Larry, Is the black, satin or flat black. I just dropped off a M/C dash overlay to be done in flat black. They came out real nice. Carl
  15. Your wife won't let you use the stove? LOL.
  16. I have this kit #MN-200 Keyless Entry System. Bought it on ebay last year. Have not installed it yet. Sorry. I don't believe it is too hard. My whole inside is apart and should be getting to it soon. I just opened the box and found the sellers address. Classis Tech 260 S Hibbert Mesa, AZ. 85210 480-668-5448
  17. Rod, You are a electrician? Right? Doing the holes in the cowl and doors for the wire harness and boot should be tryed this way first. Very small angle drill and a hole knock out dye. I did mine when I restored my Monte when the doors were off. I have always thought this other way would work. Granted, not good for the beginner but if you have all the tools I think it could be done. We all know about the punch marks. I also think it could be done from the inside.Put the thinking cap on and let us know what you think.I know you are good with posting pictures. Maybe you can show the members what a knock out looks like. Also there are these real tiny air angle drills.
  18. I just bought a 2012 Chevy Cruze. The color is Autumn Metallic. Looks just like Classic Copper. As soon as I seen that color I talked my wife right into it. By the way, it's Nancy's Car.
  19. No computer in our Monte's. They should work fine.
  20. Use window Urethane. Caulk it into the channel, put it on the window, use strips of masking tape to hold it in place, let it dry, some will ozze onto the window. Remove ozzed urethane with a razor blade.
  21. Dennis if you look behind your door panels you should find the inprint for the lock and remote mirror. Window switches cover the round holes. I have found that the door lock switch for a 70 and 71-72 are located different. I have the location at home. I'm in West Palm Beach right now. I will be home next week. Let me know if you need help with the location. I have old panels and should beable to send pictures. Carl
  22. Chris, No I did not. I bought a new one for $80. Won't get it installed for a while. I will post how it works. Thanks for the help.
  23. Tell me more. Like how much to rebuild. They also sell new motors. I'm driving to West Palm Beach next week. Maybe I will bring 4 motors. I would like to know how deep they go on a rebuild. After 40 yrs. everything is real brittle in side. I took one apart to change the brushes and everthing fell apart. I don't like anything that Cardone rebuilds. They seem to be the only rebuilts I found. Thanks. I will either email them or call.
