  1. The two blues under the carpet could be speaker wires.
  2. You must have a 1972? The two purple wires are for the neutral safety switch. The green and pink or dark green and light green are the reverse light wires. The next two are pink if I remember correctly. They are for the fasten seat belt function/ seat belt warning.
  3. What year car are you working on? 1970 used a Dark Metallic Green/ Dark Green Poly, 1971 used Jade Green, 1972 used Dark Green. The 784 code would be for a 1970. A steering column should be a low gloss paint. Different greens were used in 1969. Meaning more than one green.
  4. Thanks again Brandon. James, I will have to get back to you on the pad tomorrow. I must go to where I have them stored, but can not go today. I do have some nice center speaker pads. Thank you. Dan
  5. What you really need is a nice original dash pad. Do you have a center speaker or a dual speaker pad. I have some nice originals for sale.
  6. A little more information. Always remember to support the dash in the center. I use old couch cushions for this.
  7. This style of vents and ducts are used for a non A/C car.
  8. I believe he is trying to install this duct for an A/C car. If you can not get it in you are going to have to pull the dash outward some. To do this you can put 12 inch threaded rods in the outer top dash steel frame mounting locations. Then remove the 5 other dash frame bolts. Do not forget the hidden one above the steering column. Then slide the dash outward toward you and install that part.
  9. To my understaning, that would be SMS Auto Fabrics. Below is a link. https://www.smsautofabrics.com/
  10. The bracket mounts to the steel dash frame. Then screwed to the radio on the right side near the rear of the radio by one screw. That is all that supports the rear of the radio. As Murphy said the front is supported by the stems through the dash housing/ carrier by nuts.
  11. I will have one for a Monte. Which door do you need it for?
  12. Just because you buy a crate engine does not guarantee that you will be trouble free. I have heard of a lot of issues with crate engines. Just sayin.

Maybe he was not the owner that re stamped that block. He may have bought it that way. It may not even be an original big block car. I would let him know what you had found out. Then see what he has to say.

I would say it is not a 454. Post a picture of your engine pad with the stamped numbers. It most likely will look like a re stamped block.
  15. I have the duct you need. Shoot me a Private Message if interested. Thank you.

Is it possible someone restamped a 402 block with a 454 code. Please post a picture of the pad on the front of the block.

The block number you posted is for a 402 cubic inch block.

On the pad it should have the code, CRN. The block number should be 3963512.
  19. There should be a clip on the back side to hold the cable/ pull knob assembly in place to the kick panel. It looks like a C. There also should be a tiny bracket to hold the cable to the body. I may still have some of those ducts here for sale. I will see what I have left.
  20. I wouldn't hesitate to rebuild that original engine. You would most likely be very happy you did when it is rebuilt and back in the car. Otherwise you may go through life wishing you did when you have to stumble over that engine your are storing until you sell the car or realize it really should be in there. If someday down the line you were to sell the car if would be worth more with that engine already in it and running. Otherwise a potential owner may not put much value on the original engine, not knowing its true condition. I almost always say, do it right the first time. Just my opinion. I do not think you would regret it.
  21. What will you do with the original? If you are just going to stick it in a corner somewhere, why not just rebuild it? The factory 300 horse power engine is a great engine.
  22. Aaron is that an optional 4 spoke wheel in your other car in the picture?
