  1. Wow! I'm having second thoughts on changing the wiper blades...
  2. Great day here, took the wife and Monty out breakfast then a ride along the beach.
  3. Finally, after almost two years,a good friend and I replaced the heater core. It took us about 4 1/2 hours to get it done. I must say that the guidance and pictures (thanks Bruce) from this site helped out a great deal. I know it doesn't get that cold out here, but it comes in handy to de-fog the windshield. Sorry, no pictures....But it happened.
  4. Hello, Need some help/advice, my carb (2bbl RC) has been flooding out recently. What can be causing this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Abe
  5. Never seen them before as well, kinda like them. Not to krazy 'bout the dunk version.
  6. Looks very nice - almost new...

    fuel filter

Hello All, This may sound like a dumb question, but where would be the best place to install a fuel filter. I have the original motor and carb set up (350, 2bbl). Thank you, Abe
  10. Pretty much what the other members have said, best bet is to polish the heck outta them. I also did not repaint the accent paint to mine, kinda looks better IMO. Good luck.
  11. My '72 had 2 seams on the vinyl top, pretty sure is was standard. Sorry can't help you with your other questions. The upholstery shop should have a good idea on how the seams should run.

    CHOPPED '70

I agree a set of skirts would make it look sleeker. Nice colors too.
  13. Had the freeze plugs changed - sprung a leak on one of them last week. Also polished and waxed it.
  14. Is there anything I can use to quite the squeaking from my front end? It started out minimal now it has gotten worse. I will eventually replace the bushings, but until then what has worked for you guys in the past. Also, what type of bushings would you all recommend? Thank you, Abe
  15. Your Monte looks great! Really like the color, sure does "pop" in the sun, wheels made a big difference for the better - just my opinion. Great job !
  16. Car sure is coming along nicely. Its gonna look great once its done. Where did you get your interior kit from? Thanks in advance Abe

    Won a trophy

Thanks guys. Yeah not sure how they judged it, but hey I'll take it. The strange part is that "judges" came back twice to view it - who knows.

    Won a trophy

Hello all, During this past weekend I attended a car show benefiting cancer patients. The reason I'm posting this on the lowrider forum is that, although I don't consider my Monte a lowrider, the trophy was warded to to me for best lowrider!Go figure, I was ecstatic that the Monty was recognized and much more when it won. There were 4 other 1st gens there, one right next to me(it was an actual lowrider). I did install skirts on Friday, maybe that changed the look. here are a few pics, what do you think better with or without...
  19. Replaced mine not to long ago, as others have suggested soak in hot water then should slip right on. No glue needed as they wrap around the pedal.
  20. Took it to work today, and a local car show by the beach...it was a good day.
  21. Clay barred, polish and waxed the Monte. Used Mothers for all three steps. Had never clayed a car before, turns out it was pretty easy and the results were great.
