Yay...I found this thread. LOL There's a lot of great photos on here. It is nice to put a face to the names and I'll refer back to this thread in future. Here's a pic of my beautiful wife Rhoda and I on our wedding day two and a half years ago.
  2. My late Uncle's ex brother-in-law still works (40 years now) at the Chev dealership in Oshawa where my Uncle bought the Monte. I dropped by there a couple of weeks ago and met with him. It was truly a pleasure. We had a great chat....went down memory lane a bit and I left him with a binder full of 8x10 colour photo prints of the car. He remembered it like it was yesterday.
  3. What a great looking car! Thanks for posting that Bob.
  4. I'm looking for a set of load levelling compressor brackets that attach the compressor to the inner fender well. Does anyone have a set they are willing to sell? I've been told that someone in the Club is manufacturing repros. Is this true and if so, who is it as I would like to purchase a set? Thanks Larry
  5. Great job on that floor Murphy! If you're going to do it, do it right, I always say and you did it right! Cheers, Larry
  6. Hi Keith....here's one in Seattle for you. http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/pts/2863054632.html
  7. Good find Jamie.....I just printed the numbers for my friends 68 Mustang Cobra Jet R Code that he will be restoring in it's original Acapulco Blue. This will be valuable info for him when the time comes so a BIG thank you. Cheers, Larry
  8. Looking great Terry. Can't wait to see the finished product.
  9. At that price....someone should definitely nail it for sure. It is a great time to buy toys with the economy the way it is. My brother-in-law just picked up a great deal on a cabin cruiser. Cheers, Larry
  10. No problem Terry. The only reason I know that is because I'm expecting the one I bought a couple of weeks ago off Ebay for my 71 to show up any day now by courier. Cheers, Larry
  11. I will have 4 centre wheel caps for sale in the spring when I put my new NOS ones on if you are interested. Cheers, Larry
  12. Here's a pic of my Honda ACE and my beautiful wife on our wedding day 2 August's ago. We are off to the Dominican tomorrow for some R and R and lot's of sunshine. Cheers everyone. What did I do to my Monte today? Nothing...absolutely nothing. I drove by my Buddies place where it is stored and noticed that his German Shepherd is standing on guard protecting it and a few other cars, trucks and boats that are also stored there. One good guard dog!
  13. I'm pretty sure it is called a jack hook. Cheers, Larry
  14. That's nice of you to post them and offer them up Mike. May I suggest that you also post them on Chevelles.com for their members as well? Cheers, Larry
  15. That's a good point Rich. He is also pricing it for a Chevelle which usually has a higher price tag too.
  16. A very nice bike indeed Scott. Do you ever make it to Haugen's in Manchester for bike night? I go a couple times a summer. We will definately get together for a coffee sometime soon or in the Spring at the latest. Cheers, Larry
  17. Hi Scott, I ride a 2002 Honda Ace 750 with Mustang Seat, Hardkrome Double D pipes and a bunch of other goodies on it. It's a reliable ride and a lot of fun....black and chrome of course:) And you? You ride a Harley correct? Cheers, Larry
  18. I've seen fresh LS5's out there cheaper than that though. Ive seen them for in the mid $3000's.
  19. Hey Mark....I'm into bikes as well. What's that you are riding? I wish I could go for a ride right now. I'd need to move a little south though.
  20. I went to the barn where mine is stored....peeled the cover back and made sure everything looked o.k. Santa brought me new floor matts from Year One with Monte Carlo embroidered on them, my personalized plates that say LOSTNFND, a complete set of NOS center caps, and a new wax they have out called the Black Box which is especially for black cars as it doesn't leave a white residue behind. Darn, I wish spring would get here...LOL Cheers, Larry
  21. Hey Randall. Welcome aboard. Where in Ontario are you? I'm a little east of Port Perry and have a 71 SS. Maybe I can be of assistance with your new project? Cheers, Larry
  22. Hey Scott, That is definitely low but if it is legit, it is a steal IMO. Make sure it is numbers matching though unless that isn't a big deal for you. An SS should have factory load leveling rear suspension, rear shock guard plates, a 454 LS5 with engine suffix CPD (last three digits of the engine code located at the front of the passenger side head) At least that's what the 71 SS has anyway. Maybe someone with more 70 SS experince can chime in here and help you more than I can? As far as cosmetics are concerned, the SS has SS454 logos at the bottom of the front fenders behind the front wheels as well as others. Also, check the Cowl Tag and also ask if there's a build sheet with the car.
