  1. My pillars are a lighter shade than my steering column. I have an all original sandalwood interior. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site
  2. I also have original rallys (7") but my spare is a 6" rally. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site
  3. That's cool Pete. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site
  4. It's a toggle switch. It mounts between the radio and the steering column. There is a front and a back peice that get screw together to mount on the dash. Check out the "Photo Gallery" on my web site for my picture of the dash. I've got the defogger. Hope this helps. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site [This message has been edited by Canuck (edited 12-06-2002).]
  5. Montefraser: The back seat can have 3 people. Therefore, a bench seat car can have 6 passengers while the bucket seat car can have 5 passengers. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site
  6. I use the Chevrolet Chassis Service manual. There is a lot of detail for a specific year. The chassis service manual (1970) has the Chevrolet (Biscayne, Impala etc.), Chevelle, Monte Carlo, Nova, and 1969 Corvette. I have no idea why it covers a 69 Corvette. The Camaro, I assume, had a later edition since the car came out half way through the year. This is off track, but there's a couple of interesting notes in the chev manual. -It lists a Monte Carlo Custom Coupe and a Convertible. It even lists a body code of 13867 for the convertible. There are no other specs on a convertible though. -It says it is a 5 passenger vehicle with bench and a 4 passenger vehicle with buckets. This does not make sense. -It lists both 400 engines as 400 cu. in.. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site
  7. I had the same problem with my sandalwood interior. I ordered the wrong colour package tray once. Everything is a different colour. I'm not sure but I think the dash pad is light tan. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site
  8. This was my windshield before I got it fixed: http://www.aaronsmontecarlo.50megs.com/images/monte113.jpg The water would come in and run down the inside of the windshield interior pillar and drip out the bottom. The previous owner tried to seal it by putting stuff in the crack between the chrome trim and the body at the top corner. This did not work at all. See my body shop photos on my web site for the after pics. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site [This message has been edited by Canuck (edited 10-10-2002).]
  9. Maybe if the car was already a dark colour, they didn't paint the rocker panels. Light colours don't look very good behind the rocker trim. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site
  10. I used semi-gloss to paint mine last year. It turned out really nice. I did a lot of coats since the rocks are gonna hit there. I plan to reapply a coat or two every two years to cover those chips. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site [This message has been edited by Canuck (edited 10-10-2002).]
  11. Yeah, that 4-door is not a pretty looking machine. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo
  12. I added that assembly photo to my web site. Thanx. Check out the Monte Carlo concept car photos I found here http://members.aol.com/SSMonte86/protoMC.htm . I added these to my web site also. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo
  13. I like seeing the pictures too. I have a dial-up connection and the time it takes to load doesn't bother me at all. Also, I like the idea of only posting the pic once per thread too. Aaron www.aaronsmontecarlo.50megs.com
  14. I think the pictures should have a maximum width such that the message board is not wider than the screen (no offense Charlie ). The messages are hard to read when you have to go back and forth. That's my 2 cents. I also wanted to ask if mine is an OK size. Let me know. Thanx. ------------------ Aaron Langley, B.C. 15. There is something wrong with the float in your tank. My 1980 Malibu did the same thing. When i first got it, the car would run out at 1/2 tank. It worked for a short period and then went back to the way it was. One day it worked again and it has been working ever since. I don't know what fixed it? Someone told me that the float was upside down causing the gas guage to read wrong and that it must have flipped over the right way when it fixed itself. ------------------ Aaron Dodsworth Langley, BC Canada 1970 Monte Carlo Aaron's Monte Carlo Web Site
  16. I've shown a few people and they haven't been able to figure it out. Thanx again. ------------------ Aaron Dodsworth Langley, BC Canada 1970 Monte Carlo Aaron's Monte Carlo Web Site
  17. I've been trying to figure that thing out for a year now. Mine is all loose and rattles a little. I'm going to fix it tomorrow. Thanx. ------------------ Aaron Dodsworth Langley, BC Canada 1970 Monte Carlo Aaron's Monte Carlo Web Site
  18. Good luck. Let me know how it works for you. I'm probably going to do it next spring when I have the time. Come september, I'm in school full time and work 30hrs a week. I can't start that project now. ------------------ Aaron Dodsworth Langley, BC Canada 1970 Monte Carlo Aaron's Monte Carlo Web Site
  19. I usually get them at my local GM dealer. ------------------ Aaron Dodsworth Langley, BC Canada 1970 Monte Carlo Aaron's Monte Carlo Web Site
  20. I have done the interior trim but I just make sure nobody touches it. The vinyl roof trim is out in the elements. I used this stuff called 'Trim Paint' on the interior trim. It said that it sticks to stainless steele and chrome but it only comes in black. I also used it on the lower body trim last year and so far so good. I need white for my vinyl trim. ------------------ Aaron Dodsworth Langley, BC Canada 1970 Monte Carlo Aaron's Monte Carlo Web Site
  21. Have you guys repainted your vinyl roof trim. If so, what kind of paind is best. Does anything stick to the trim? The original paint was chipping off so I stripped all of it. It looks good but it is not original. ------------------ Aaron Dodsworth Langley, BC Canada Misty turquoise 1970 Monte Carlo 73,000 miles My Monte Carlo Web Site
  22. How many cans do you order to cover 4 rims. The back of the rims could be done in a regular silver since I'm sure the OPG paint is expensive. What do you recommend. ------------------ Aaron Dodsworth Langley, BC Canada Misty turquoise 1970 Monte Carlo 73,000 miles My Monte Carlo Web Site
  23. My circuit board is gone too. A couple of my dash lights will not work in the guage package.
