(CAPS ARE FOR YOU, LARRY!) I Joined FGMCC in 2012, but had family health issues and missed the Annual Meet in Hiawassee that year. In 2013, Monte  was in body shop beginning in February, couldn't make Carlisle. In 2014, still in shop, ready to final block sand, couldn't make Somerset. In 2015, still in shop, but I took my 1972 Corvette to the Carlisle Annual Meet, just to prove I was real. In May of 2016, Monte was delivered to me in worse condition than I gave it to the bodyman. The pics tell 1/2 the story. I was ashamed to bring her to Norwalk. So, in 2017, I swallowed my pride and brought her to the Hiawassee Meet, just to prove she was real! Had a great time. Followed my son both coming and going. He drove the triple black '75 Monte. We barely did 95 MPH going down, but hit 105 at least 3 times going home! Really nice father and son trip! He made it home, but I ran out of gas only 3 miles from house. I wonder if it was a jinx from the award, or maybe the Mustang I passed right before she ran out? Anyways, thanks to a great bunch for all the friendship and good times. (We MISSED YOU, LARRY!)

That car had body work done? That body guy should be ashamed!

I missed sleeping while talking to you to Jim. :yay:   We had a conflict with the Hiawassee meet this year but sure would have loved to have been there.

Yes, the holes were left under the Quarter trim, left and right, cracked windshield, racked hood, dimpled rear window trim, sanding marks on rear window and rear quarter glass both sides, left fiberglass and bondo in rear wheel wells, destroyed rear wheel well trim (couldn't get screws out, they're still there! trim isn't), body is cracking and bubbling and peeling all over, left off the bumper to body fillers in rear, sanded off the lip on interior trim on rear window, wet sanded car with rear window out and interior still in, left off mounting/adjusting parts on headlights so they will not adjust, scratched my show panel putting hood on, and the color is several shades too dark. Then had the brass to tell me to take it to shows for 2 or 3 months and leave it out in the sun so the paint would cure. Then tells me he fully expected me to call him in 2 or 3 months to have him do it all over, again. And, this was a friend of 35 years who can and has done beautiful work on several show cars! All that was wrong when she went in was 6 or 8 three pointed "starfishes" or paint bubbling and cracking. Had less than 2,000 miles on last restore 8 years prior, with all new stainless, glass, and re-chrome. Should have left well enough alone! The sad thing is, he took 3 1/2 years to mess this up, and I didn't even get kissed!

Almost forgot, I had to replace my 1999 date coded Tigerpaws. Might as well blame him for letting them dry rot during the 3 1/2 years he had her!

I thought I had trouble with my body guy. My guy did great work but he really takes his time. I had to light a fire under his AZZ to get going on it. Now Bob, the guy who did the body work on mine is working on Ethan's car. I know Ethan was having trouble getting Bob motivated. Not sure how the progress is going on Ethan's car, have not heard from him in a while.
