need help picking tranny

I also love my 400 - bullitproof!

 

BUT, if it goes, I'm getting a built 200R4 maybe from Art Carr. With the lower first and overdrive, I will be quicker and faster. They can be built to handle 800 hp, and they don't have that huge gear ratio difference between 1st and 2nd like the 700R4 does. Plus it is almost the exact length of the 400.

 

The Monte hasn't been in the fast lane on the freeway in years - I miss that!

OK, I'll be the odd guy out here and say that I've had excellent luck with my th-350. It's been behind 500-550 lbft of torque for 3 years now with not a single glitch! That included lots of hard running on street tires, and some racing with slicks albeit not that much! It does have a hardened sprag race and extra clutches/steels, but that is it as far as beefing it up goes.

I was reffering to the top of the line 400 tranny (the godfather) from the site he indicated, capable of handling 900hp. wink
