Mike Brichta
I purchased a 70 El Camino a few years back as a parts car and drivetrain and have been removing parts from it as needed. The car appeared to be all original and was a factory 4 speed bench car. The car did not have an engine when I purchased it and I assumed it was a small block car even though it had front disk brakes. A few days ago I got around to removing the 12 bolt rear and noticed it had an unusual rear sway bar that I never saw before. It bolts to the bottom of the control arm rather then the sides. Has anyone ever seen one like this or is this an El Camino thing? The rear axle code is "CCW 0521B1" which decodes to a 3.31 12-bolt open (L34/402 LS3/402). It also had the F41 rear braces which I didn't expect either. It also has the rear shock protectors which I understand is pretty much standard for these cars. What do you guys think? MC1of80
I have seen that style sway bar before. On elcaminos. All have had 12 bolt rears and no f41 suspension. Usually small block cars. Idk why though.
714024SPEED
The sway bar looks just like the 73-77 A/G body style
