420ponies
I'm installing a Turbo 400 behind my BBC 427 and wanting to know what drive shaft/yoke I need. Right now it does not have a slip style yoke on the transmission. Do I need the drive shaft with the bell style at the front with a slip yoke? Has a 12 bolt rear ale in it now with 3:73 gears. I have not done any research on this yet. Getting done to the end of my engine swap.
MC1of80
Factory big blocks had the "weight" on the front of the driveshaft like the small blocks. I have a driveshaft without the weight in "Big Red". It actually is from my father's 77 Grand Prix SJ that was custom made back in the day with 1350 u-joints. Just a hair short but has been working for years. I recommend the 1350 joints. The slip yolk and rear end flange must be 1350 specific also.
Gothamsproblem
So I'm thinking of using the 4L80, does the drive shaft differ?
MC1of80
You will have to measure for a new shaft. The 4L80 is longer than the th400.
