BCourv99
Hi, I am looking for some info on what it would take to change my 70 MC powerglide tranny to a th350. Specifically does anything need to be changed in the column itself? I have the indicator for a 3 speed but am not sure what else i need. Thanks. kc8oye
i guess just to cover all the bases... are you SURE it's a 'glide and not a TH350?
BCourv99
yes. Is there some sort of detent or something in the column that holds it in selected gear?
kc8oye
basicly, the th350 should just bolt right in and everything will hook up as it was... you will need to move the crossmember problaby, but that should just unbolt and slide back or forward, the holes are already in the frame. RichG
If I recall correctly, the dash indicator is just a plastic pointer with a string attached to it. The string has a ring terminal that screws to the "shifter bowl" on the column. As the column moves with the shifter, the pointer moves. So to answer the question, nothing need to be done except align it. Put shifter in neutral, align pointer to neutral and you should be goo to go. 7tonemonte
Rich is right with his description, I just had mine apart, just a small phillips head into the shifter bowl.
