Riznitch
Ive searched the site looking for the answer but can't find it so, sorry for reposting. Anyhow, if i have a stock 350 what type oil pump should i get. higher volume or higher pressure? I remember someone saying that for one of these it would be recomended to get a deeper pan (i dont want a deeper pan). Thanks in advance
72MC
For a stock 350, you only need a stock volume/stock pressure oil pump. If you are set on a higher volume pump, that would be fine. Most high volume pumps come with a second spring(usually pink) for a high pressure application. However, don't use a high pressure pump or the high pressure spring on a high volume pump. Not a good idea even for a mild - highly modified SBC. The higher volume pump will raise pressures slighty just by nature, so to speak (ie. pump trying to push higher volume through the original passages). - Dave
