firefighter343
I have a 72 Monte with a 327 out of a 69 camaro and a 350 turbo tranny, It will only shift into reverse, I can move it into drive, or any low gear and it wont move, just rev up.. I changed the modulator on the side of the tranny and it didnt help.. I checked the fluid and its a almost dry.. Is it worth buying the tranny fluid?? or do I need a rebuild?? black07ss
I would put some fluid in it. If it has sat for a while it could have leaked out slowly and may be just fine
firefighter343
I hope so.. If I have to rebuild it, I might just get a 2 speed powerglide.. but if I dont, thats more money toward my

Mo's70MCs
At the very least drop the pan, the filter may be full of gunk. Even if you top it off to the full line, it may not be delivering enough fluid to build-up pressure. You may discover the pan is filled with a lot of crud. At minimum it requires a service interval. cny first gen 71
I aggree with droping the pan but if it was me I would fill it up first and see if it moves first. Tranny fluid is pretty cheep and with the hi detergent content in it it may clean it out a bit. If it moves and shifts ok then I would do the service on it.
