Blue502
I almost got this head off today.I will get it tomorrow.Does anyone have any tricks for getting the last header bolt at the back?I tried from underneath but my arms are too big.I need a #10 12 point which is about 2' long.;)I might just remove the inner fender well. How about those last 2 head bolts.I got them loose but not enough clearance to pull them out.Are you guys removing them with the head or are you jacking the motor up on that side?Installing them the same way? Thanks
bigtankjones
Find a 12 point combination wrench and remove the bolt that way. Thats how I installed some header bolts that i cant get to with a socket. Just a thought.

Sam (Bones)
removing the inner fender helps bunches! you maybe able the get a socket and extension thru there by just removing the tire
Mike 57
I never heard of a metric headed header bolt on a BBC. I use a 3/8 12 point ratchet wrench. Those big block head are really heavy!

Blue502
You may be right.I know a #10 got the rest of them,Sometimes certain bolts will take standard or metric.I may buy a couple of those half moon wrenchs and the other ones that have a 90* bend with a closed end. Â How do you guys handle those 2 head bolts? It's too bad.I was going run studs.Even though I thought the motor was quiet if you can call a Vortech quiet. The copper header gaskets had some large leaks. Mike 57
Copper head gaskets seem to like to seep. What head bolts are you having issues with? The ones by the A/C box?
