Will
Im cleaning up the engine bay while shes out. Thinking of getting rid of my ugly old fan shrowd. Anyone have experience going to electric fans? Is going electric pump mandatory when you do the fans?
Sam (Bones)
I don't recommend a electric pump if you are going to street drive it, the electric fan set-up is the way to go if you don't care about keeping that stock look
bobsmc
i use the fan assy from a 2000 grand prix in my monte. it is the same size as the radiator. i simple cut a few corners off and bolted it to the radiator .there are two fans and cools very well ., i have vintage air and a big block. i paid 35 dollats for a used on at the local pull apart.[junkyard] the stock water pump is fine .no need for electric. bob
Will
Hey Bob, Â My local pull and pay has a 2000 grand prix. Could you elaborate a lil more and how the installation went? Wiring wise? Did you just run a line to the fuse block? The wiring is all thats holding me back from going electric fans
bobsmc
the best thing to do is get a relay kit from hollister company. Â http://myworld.ebay.com/hollisterroadco/ Â contact them and tell them what you want to do.i spoke to someone there a few years back.they will customize there relay kit to suite youre needs. i think the whole thing with great install instructions was only about 89 shipped?
