AM Radio Front Speakers

I have the stock am radio in my car which works great but my 2 speakers are shot has anyone used any aftermarket speakers that work good the ohms on the old ones were 10 spoke to someone at opgi said they couldnt help with what they got also called crutchfield was uncertain.the ones that were in there i think measured 3x5 or 4x6

You can send them to Year One. They have someone who rebuilds them. A friend of mine had a couple of them rebuilt at Year One. I'll try to get the info on how much. He did say they work really well. Do you have 2 speakers in the dash? You should only have one in the dash for AM. One also in the back. Right side passenger side rear.

Rob. If you have a stock AM radio I believe you should only have a single speaker in the center of the dash. Now if you had a AM FM radio that would require 2 speakers for stereo. Someone might of swaped them out. My advice is take everyting out and go with a modern set up.

Two speakers were required if the car had A/C. Didn't matter if it was AM or what ever, the air duct work for the center vent is in that center speaker area.

Bruce is correct, My original 71 with AC has 2 dash speakers and an original AM radio.
