  3. Last post on the this was November of 22. It does still exist. lol. Thursday a good customer of mine needed a couple cans of r12 so I delivered it to him in my 71. First movement since August. Ran and drove outstanding. I miss driving it. But show season is upon us and I should be able to get 100 miles this year. lol.
  4. Not much new going on here. But it is still in progress. Just wanted to do an update so you all know it’s still happening. Eventually. lol.

See respect. I’m not the only one. Great story and I’m glad it all worked out. And not the car is pre-washed for Carlisle
  7. Being a Historic Landmark, I agree they should have allowed it. If you aren't allowed to take pictures there, maybe the Historic Landmark plaque, paid for with local tax dollars should be removed. As it turned out I think the place we finally were able to get into was a better location. rob

The man should have let you take your pictures, even if it cost you the 20 bucks, not a very pleasant fellow American.

  15. No offense taken, just a running joke Sir, note the smiling face. rob
  16. Yes - thank you everyone! Joe and I spoke earlier today. I am also working on replacing the AC blower motor. Not a big deal, getting it done. Thanks to everyone. I will post some pictures of the Monte, please be patient with me as I sort through a few things. I also had to find the location on the frame of the second Vin since it is an out of State vehicle and California DMV requires a visual on the second Vin - found it on the frame, drivers side top, rear next to the fuel tank - I plan on posting some pictures of that as well. Gotta go take a shower, it's been a long one! Thanks,Matt

    fantastic pictures and story sir.
  21. My buddies got a 71 he has in Tennessee asked if I wanted it. no motor or trans, not too rough. he says rusted trunk. told him yes I would. give3s pause as I wanted to build it like the black one with the skull grille I saw in the clubs pictures. but could build as a convertible. actually wouldn't be terribly difficult. As Chevelle convertible items are readily available. or make it permanent convertible. plan to buy up all the First Gen Monte Carlo's I can find in a reasonable radius from my home in buffalo Illinois, upon returning. Already know of 6 or7 but parts cars only they are,. Cancer keeping me down for over a year has put a new focus upon my life. First Gen. All the way. Going to sell my 50 Pontiac Silver Streak Hearse , 60 3/4 ton 4x4 apache p/u, 76 1 ton pathfinder converted from the factory 4x4 van ,1 owner 66 chrysler 300 , 1 owner 58 buick super , 57 chevy 150 , 77 Cadillac DeVille w/26,000 mi. 77 Harley wide glide and my 78 and 80 CBX motorcycles. you see my two 70 First Gen Gems are not for sale and become the first of a new Dream Collection I'm going to put a concerted amount of effort in. Becoming a member of your club and seeing all of my fellow club members passions, has somehow changed my focus. like a caterpillar turning a Beautifull Butterfly. Thank you all, I owe it all to you !!!!!!! whew, here it comes.
  22. Attached is a picture of my Monte at the old Pittsburgh Union Railroad Station. The building is now a Historic Landmark. Story follows as to why it was there. Now, the story behind the picture. Our granddaughter asked me if I would take pictures of herself and some of her friends before the Prom. She had a beautiful light blue dress and when she got to our house she asked if my Monte could be in the picture with her since her dress was almost the same color as my car so despite the threat of rain I agreed. They had wanted their picture taken on Mt Washington overlooking downtown Pittsburgh. With the threat of rain Patsy and I started looking for a distinctive place we could get some pictures of them all and this was the one they wanted the picture taken so I headed down to get ready for them at the old Union Railroad Station. The station and the pictured rotunda are Historic Landmarks but the building is now apartment/condo's. So, after I arrived and was standing inside the pictured rotunda some guy comes out and says, "what the he11 are you doing here, this is private property." I told him I was there to take some pictures of my granddaughter and her friends prior to their prom. He said do you have a permit? I said no where would I get a permit and how much does it cost and he told me I could get it there and it costs $150.00. I said "I don't have $150 on me and he said, "How much do you have". I told him I only have $20 on me. he said You have to leave. I called Emily and told her and her friends we have been kicked out of the Union Station property. Patsy and I had come up with another beautiful place for our pictures and that is the Grand Concourse of the old Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Station so we diverted to there. It is a beautiful building with a beautiful Grand Staircase. I called there and asked if we could come there for the picture and the gladly agreed. It is another beautiful Historic Landmark. None of the kids had brought money so I told them don't worry about it I will pay their parking. When I arrived I met with the lady who had told me the kids were more than welcome to come and she took all of our parking tickets and validated them and that saved me $27 in parking. The kids all loved the building and the staircase selection to have their pictures taken. Unfortunately the two group pictures of the kids on the staircase would not load. I got to drive the Monte home in a monsoon. rob
