  1. I think if you're going to be making more power than a 2 bolt with main studs can handle you may as well go with an aftermarket block. A 4 bolt block with studs isn't going to handle much more and with the cost of going to splayed mains,an aftermarket block is money better spent. I won't spend money on modifying factory heads either when you can get much better heads out the box for similar money.
  2. Ordered some Procar Rally seats and the related parts to install them and installed a coolant overflow tank.
  3. The bolts that are splayed go into the much thicker oil pan rail rather than the thinner webbing.
  4. Well not exactly today but over the last week I ordered some wheels and tires, had the 12 bolt rebuilt with 3.55s and a posi, picked up a quick ratio steering box, replaced the headlight switch and ordered a lockset and some miscellaneous parts.
  5. I don't have pics but the current roof mounting looks like the factory belt mount complete with the plastic cover.
  6. Get yourself a strap style filter wrench that fits on a ratchet. The harder you turn them the tighter they get. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accesso...fier=72843_0_0_
  7. Got mine today. They look really nice coupled with the fact I won't eat dash or steering wheel in the event of a collision.
  8. Got mine ordered but I'll eventually get the retractable rears too.
  9. Ah hell count me in as I'm going to buy them anyway.
  10. Quick question, how does the actual purchase work in a group buy? I've never done one so I'd like the specifics before I throw my name in the hat.
  11. Sounds like Kenworth took a page out of GM's book in that reguard. Start at the back and work forward. Need to fix something at the back = gut the cab.
  12. I ripped out all the factory front suspension and installed all new tubular control arms, drop springs, sway bar and shocks. The rear is next.
  13. Early 2006 one of my nephews was diagnosed with Lymphatic Leukemia followed a month or so later with my dad being diagnosed with esophageal cancer(longtime smoker that had quit a few years before this). For 2 1/2 years grandson and grandpa fought cancer together until my dad was diagnosed terminal in July of 2008 and finally passed in October. My nephew fought on and went into full remission within the next year and was doing good and was close to being considered cancer free until it came back about a year ago. The poor kid has spent over half his life in and out of hospitals and has had very little living a normal life. Cancer is just one of those things that's really hard to watch someone have to endure and I hope I never have to see that again.
  14. I'll get a water pump for the donor vehicle to make sure there are no issues there. Oh and duh on my part I forgot to mention that the car already has A/C if that makes a difference.
  15. It's going onto a 350. Is it necessary to swap out the condenser as well to clean up the hose routing?
  16. I'm looking to go with a serpentine set up out of a late 80's early/mid 90's truck(I'm on a budget). What I'd like to know is what all is involved in integrating the smaller and relocated A/C compressor and what are some good sources on parts and pieces to do so. The bulk of the parts(brackets, pulleys, etc) will be sourced from a wrecking yard. Thanks Steve
  17. It's possible but you may have to lift the engine up a little bit to get the pan out.
